Lets say satin M390 or 20cv/204p steel, titanium liners, carbon fiber scales, and retail price @ $240. Will that happen? Will people like that to happen?
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is ready to order! See this thread for details:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/bladeforums-2024-traditional-knife.2003187/
Price is $300 $250 ea (shipped within CONUS). If you live outside the US, I will contact you after your order for extra shipping charges.
Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/ - Order as many as you like, we have plenty.
I'm totally with you on the steel, titanium liners is not necessary for me, and G10 (or Micarta for that matter!) scales is ok, $240 is too much for me unfortunately. I'm really bummed I didn't go for the KW 710-1401 when it was available...
You and me both! Lucky I was able to pick up a M2 and a M4 when available.I'd love to see ATS-34 come back (would never happen) - or M2 (same). An S90V version would get my attention in a rush.

No recurve?!Stainless liners (for more cheapness!) and no recurve, please. Not so picky on blade steel, but I'd pay for 20CV. Seems like a 710 redux would be a fantastic candidate for the custom shop (and yeah, I know that the Crooked River is already there, but it's just not the same!).
No recurve?!
Then it wouldn’t be a 710!
@Benchmade I agree with the poster who described it as the best EDC pocket knife ever made. I have two, one in D2 that I have used for years, and it is in my pocket now. I also have the blue & black G10 M390 version, purchased because you wonderful, crazy people discontinued it.
Full disclosure: Benchmade are my favourite brand of pocket knife. I pay high prices in the UK to own Benchmades.Of all my Benchmade knives, the 710 just has something special about it, a je ne c’est quoi, oui?
The Crooked River has a similar sense of special, but the 710 deserves to stay in production. It is in its own way as significant as the Buck 110. If you bring it back, we will all love you long time and want to have your babies.
Well, maybe not the last bit...![]()
I’d be happy with Titanium liners, for sure! The stand offs on the 710-1401 are also great, TBH. But I’d settle for the bog standard 710 if the only other option was no 710 at all!I agree. If people do not like the recurve on 710, there are plenty of other Benchmades without the recurve to look at.
BTW, I suggested to replace the steel liners with titanium liners mainly because I feel the handle is a bit too heavy, or put it in a different way, the balance point of BM 710 is slightly a bit more to the handle side (not perfectly right at the index finger).
