Lets say satin M390 or 20cv/204p steel, titanium liners, carbon fiber scales, and retail price @ $240. Will that happen? Will people like that to happen?

I'm totally with you on the steel, titanium liners is not necessary for me, and G10 (or Micarta for that matter!) scales is ok, $240 is too much for me unfortunately. I'm really bummed I didn't go for the KW 710-1401 when it was available...

I agree Mikke. Although I’m a fan of both the 710 and M390 steel, I’m not completely sold on the G10 scale Blue/Black color of the KW 710-1401. I prefer grey, black or olive. Now if the scales were a black/olive drab combo similar to these custom 940 scales, I’d be very tempted.

Only if they talk to EKI again and get a wave on it. I like the balance point with SS liners personally. Recurve or not that would be the perfect knife!

Owning five 710's, there will always be room for another. But not to worry, there must be a zillion of them out there. One of my very favorite Benchmades.

Stainless liners (for more cheapness!) and no recurve, please. Not so picky on blade steel, but I'd pay for 20CV. Seems like a 710 redux would be a fantastic candidate for the custom shop (and yeah, I know that the Crooked River is already there, but it's just not the same!).

I'd be happy if they just brought it back with better steel. I love the classic handles personally, although I know that's not as fun if we are wishing! First bladeforums post and I'm happy it's about the 710

I'd love to see ATS-34 come back (would never happen) - or M2 (same). An S90V version would get my attention in a rush.

There's nothing wrong with Hitachi ATS-34. Close cousins with 154CM it still cuts like it was designed for. Same could be said for the 710!

CPM-M4, CPM-20CV/M390, CPM-154/154CM/ATS34, would all be GREAT! Recurve or not, I'd have to have one of each if they came waved with thumb studs I'd go broke. Maybe a tanto variant?

Would be sweet if there were custom shop options

Would love to see the 710 come back in some cool LE runs.
I’ve got 5
2-M2, 1-M4, 3-M390.
Two of my M390’s are crowded spine LE’s.
Love the 710!

You and me both! Lucky I was able to pick up a M2 and a M4 when available.

I've had them all. I think the only one's I've still got are ATS-34, M2 and M390. The M4 blade never really did much for me but that may be more about what I want than what it is. D2 was just -meh- in my opinion. In theory the 154CM blade should have been as good as the ATS-34 but it never seemed to sharpen up as nicely and take as good an edge as ATS-34.

This thread needs some pics! Here's 4 of mine

No recurve?!

Then it wouldn’t be a 710! :p

@Benchmade I agree with the poster who described it as the best EDC pocket knife ever made. I have two, one in D2 that I have used for years, and it is in my pocket now. I also have the blue & black G10 M390 version, purchased because you wonderful, crazy people discontinued it.

Full disclosure: Benchmade are my favourite brand of pocket knife. I pay high prices in the UK to own Benchmades. Of all my Benchmade knives, the 710 just has something special about it, a je ne c’est quoi, oui?

The Crooked River has a similar sense of special, but the 710 deserves to stay in production. It is in its own way as significant as the Buck 110. If you bring it back, we will all love you long time and want to have your babies. :D

Well, maybe not the last bit... ;)

I agree. If people do not like the recurve on 710, there are plenty of other Benchmades without the recurve to look at.

BTW, I suggested to replace the steel liners with titanium liners mainly because I feel the handle is a bit too heavy, or put it in a different way, the balance point of BM 710 is slightly a bit more to the handle side (not perfectly right at the index finger).

I’d be happy with Titanium liners, for sure! The stand offs on the 710-1401 are also great, TBH. But I’d settle for the bog standard 710 if the only other option was no 710 at all!
