Pretty sure I broke my ankle, carrying the last pack of shingles and I slipped on some ice and my foot folded up it isn't pretty I'll be going to Urgent care tomorrow I think.

My wife thinks it's a bad sprang, I hope so, but it's very painful right now and swollen...

Until then, you know what they say about "Rice" - rest, ice, compression and elevation.
 
Thanks man, laying down now leg raised up about 2 feet up with ice on it will get it wrapped up in a few, glad to have the ipad :) but boy does this suck!!!

I hope that Your Wife is correct about it being sprained.
In the meantime, You may want to check with Urgent Care to get their advice.
Get Well Soon. Prayers headed in Your direction.
 
Ice 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off to lessen the swollen. Hope you get well soon.

Thanks, my wife's uncle had 5 packs of shingles, a guy said he'd put them on if I let him have a motor, so I thought I was lucky ;)

Trying to sell the house and the sheds roof is leaking a lot, really needs it...

here's hoping its a sprain and not a break....and a quick recovery whichever it turns out being.

I've had a bad sprain and it does feel like a break for the first couple of days, mega swelling, as well.

Ice for the leg. Something soothing for the rest of you, preferably, something alcoholic.

That is awful, I really hope it is minor and not a break. Feel better.
 
That sucks, hope it's not broke but iv'e heard a bad sprain can be more painful than a break!

I have been walking on a broken ankle for weeks now myself. At least I think it's broken, my good ol Australian Shepherd was the culprit. I was walking down the road that goes from the top of the hill where our trailer is s down to the highway and my Cobey was nipping at my ankle down by the top of my shoe and I was trying to get him to stop. I finally ended up losing my balance when my ankle folded over and I heard a loud pop and the pain was intense! My ankle swelled up on the left outside by the malleolus, never discolored much but it's still kinda swollen and that's been over a month or so ago.
 
Rest it , and get medical advice as soon as you can .
Broken bones are something I've had to deal with numerous times in my life , and it never gets any easier or less painful .
My thoughts are with you .

Gary, I hope you heal up fast. The good thing about pain is, it tires you out so much that you fall asleep. Until you turn over and it hurts so much it wakes you up ... :(
 
Thanks guys heading out in a few, worked from home this morning, plus it'll give the doc some time to wake up :)

Mine isn't discolored much either and swelling on the outside part of the ankle, left ankle, left side of that, still swollen and hurts as one would expect

I'm thinking now we had a warm day yesterday ice/snow were melting my weight plus the bundle of shingles broke through the ice and caused the fall
