Nice!!

You must have really worked that little ant to break it!

That's what I'm talking about!

i have put my izula and rc-4 through the gauntlet all kinds of bushcraft stuff hacking down trees to make firewood making shelter and breaking down 1000s of boxes and alittle wooden strip takes me down

i want a izula bad but wish it came in orange as well might go with black with a orange paracord wrap that wat i wont lose it

I find it absolutely mind-boggling (and somehow refreshing at the same time) that you guys can get all excited and foaming-at-the-mouth over a broken knife... Pretty darn cool, I think.

Knives are tools first and pieces of art second. At least, that's how I look at it.

I'm that way with everything I own (except my art). If I can't use it I don't want it.

I used to collect Lego sets - I would buy brand new discontinued kits from other collectors. After I received them I would build the model and take a photo of it and send it to the guy I bought it from - you wouldn't believe the foul language that I would open a sealed lego set. THEY'RE TOYS!!! they're meant to be played with.

My ESEE-4 should be here tomorrow. I can't wait to play with it and get it dirty (and probably dull).

Jeff

Pffft it just started raining. Will attempt to use it another day. I ain't going outside when the tequila is inside!

Now to get this thread back on track... I honestly think this is maybe only the 3rd or 4th REAL ESEE breakage that has been proven with pics.

I don't really hope to see more... but for the sake of this thread maybe I do :D

holy crap, you really do use it. I never seen a blade used that hard before (which is not a bad thing i think). I haven't ever used any of my knife to anywhere near that knife has been used which is a shame. I ususally use a knife once and get a new one... I'm trying to change but it's hard to change what you are.

Yeah I know you can send the knife back to ESEE. however I would be interested in seeing a new profile on the blade. Just to see what could be done. If you don't plan to keep it let me know.

im not one to try and cheat or lie im with you guys if you have been able to break your esse post the pics

Wow! You must have put a lot of stress on that to have it break so far from the tip. I'm surprised you didn't stop when the blade flexed as much as it must have. It's a shame the knife broke, but at least you are covered.

A good little exercise is to make an "ooopsie" directory on your hard drive and save all the pictures you see of broken knives there. Here's mine, haven't been at it long. Everything breaks (or chips), note the gransfors bruks axe listed.
