Broken BK2

No argument with the rest of your post, about it being abusive. But on what do you base this statement? Did the perp confess?

my understanding is that the "perp" threw the knife at least 100 times at a tree/stump

even point first perfect throws can stress a hard knife. one can only imagine how many broadside strike/misses occurred. PTANG! not nice.

despite this, they still replaced it. not too shabby eh?

Sorry have not been on here in a while. I dont have any pictures but I can tell you I was just as shocked as everyone else. The Bk2 was beaten, chopped used and abused everyday. I threw it into trees hundreds of times and it never flinched. The stump was cut on a slight angle. When it hit I heard that horrible metal on metal sound and I looked down and there was a handle, the blade flew a few feet away. It snapped directly in the middle just after where the blade ends, right about the scales.

I still don't know why knife manufacturerers are supposed to swallow obvious misuse of their product and replace the item. Compared to say, a kid playing Dukes of Hazzard with mommas mini van, then trailering the busted mess back to the Chrysler dealership for replacment.

you should be a gold member by now...hmm. did you update your status via the user control panel -> group memberships thingy to identify yourself as a gold member? i'll contact spark after the holidays just to make sure he applied the gold membership to you instead of extending my existing one.
 
Does anyone's sheath come to a point at the end? My BK2 is having problems still getting in and out, and I just noticed that the handle button strap doesn't even fit around the handle.

And my sheath looks different than all the pictures, the form doesn't square off, it comes to a point.

I contacted Ka-Bar, waiting for a response. But I just can't think of what other Becker knife it could be? It's the same length, but a smaller handle and a possibly different pointed tip.
