Look at the bright side: affix the blade portion into a long stick and now its a spear to catch game but.. you have to eat it raw because no batoning.

I personally Love good D2. Like you said it's great for cutting and holds an edge.
-But it's not the strongest steel.

Didn’t read the whole thread so this has probably been address, but D2 is an exceptionally strong steel. It not very tough.

The injection-molded(?) handle is likely to fail long before the steel. Think we've seen examples of that shown here.

I'll take a plastic mora handle over that crap rubber anyday.
