Bruce Bump's Brutus Axe-Matchlock

What's the final disposition of this one Bruce? If it were mine, it'd never be shot. It'd hang on an entire wall by itself, with low wattage spotlights on it, and my recliner chair positioned so that I could just stare at it all day long, into the night. Superb craftsmanship Bruce, congradulations!

I've been waiting to see this one ever since Bruce started posting questions about where to get this and learn about that, I knew it would be something
FABULOUS and I was right. Bruce you have patiences of steel to take on such a project, your artistic and craftmanship abilites are truly shown in your work. OUTSTANDINGand I look forward to seeing this piece totally finished and a full view.

Bill

I agree with everyone else that said "WOW"! That's absolutely amazing! I've seen some impressive weapons collections at some great museums - Rijksmuseum and the Landeszeughaus in Austria among others. THAT looks like a museum piece, only newer... Truly a great work of art, Mr.Bump:thumbup: Now when are you going to shoot it?:D And will you post some pics?:D

That is just utterly amazing! I've seen old museum pieces that don't look as good and this isn't even finished?

You would have been a master in any age Bruce. Way to go!

These pictures are from my small homemade light box. When I'm finished with it I'm sending it to Jim Cooper for real shots. From there Im not sure who to send the photos to. It seems like the knife mags may not pick it up and its a bastard among the modern rifle mags. Where does it fit in?

Bruce, if that piece doesn't end up in or on the cover of Knives 2007 I'll be terribly disappointed by Kertzman's sin of omission. :(

Holy Smokers........ Never seen anything like it. Bruce, you never cease to amaze me. This is definately a "Bump" for Bruce......

Robert

Cool stuff, Bruce.

Didn't I see one like that on eBay a while back...? sold for $45 or so...definitely should get at least double that for this one...

:foot: :p :D

I have known this piece since it was just a idea in Bruces head that he and I discussed a few times.Man this piece just blows my mind.I also will be disapointed if it isnt put in a mag or on the cover of the yearly knife annual. All I can say is "GREAT JOB" and can't wait to see it finished...

One question for Bruce now.......WHAT'S NEXT!!!!!!!!

Someday maybe I will learn how to make a knife (or axe) like Mr.Bump...

A Humbled,
Bruce Evans

Bruce E. I agree, Mr. Bump has raised the bar so high with this piece that a step ladder wouldn't help me get to it, little lone over it. He did good, thats for sure, but he always does.

Bill

To borrow a phrase from my buddy Danbo - Great googly moogly!  These are right off the charts!

Roger

PS - I am sure Coop will be able to help with suggestions on where to send the pics - he knows these things...

Hey Bruce:

I can still remember when you were forging the barrel. Your light box looks like it takes some great pics too. What is next on the Bump agenda? I'll be looking forward to seeing what's next. Keep us all posted. Keep up the great work. Hope to see ya soon.

It's a little big for EDC, but if offered, I'd still take it ;) That's some amazing work, Bruce. Your patience and diligence are paying off big!

I absolutely love that! my biggest interest this year is muzzleloading rifles, and since I'm building one myself.... but man.....

BTW, Who did your engraving and inlay work?

Gary.
P.s. hope you don't mind, I posted a link on The Outpost
