Thanks Don. I lighlty sanded the lines to bring out some contrast against the cold blue. I did my Machax like that too and it turned out good.
NixKustoms is now the proud owner of that Brute.

I had a sterile BK4 sold it about a month ago another Beckerhead has it now
 
Talking in code is not helping. It simply suggests that something is going on between the lines.
I'm not sure what sort of knife is being proposed here. Mainly because it's never been stated openly.
If it's a Brute copy, that will not fly with Ethan or with the folks on this forum.
Ethan's designs are his designs. That point is not contestable.
 
I am not really sure of what is being proposed here but, I have no intention of giving my blessing or permission to anyone other than Ka-Bar introducing or reintroducing a Becker Knife and Tool Corporation pattern....... I do not know what consequences might befall the perpetrators of such an act but, I would not care to endure it myself........

BTW, in my hands the BK&T Model BK-1 is an inferior chopper, skinner, short machete, whittler and kitchen prepper compared to the BK&T Model BK-9...... I therefore see no purpose in anyone pursuing a resurrection of this design other than to dilute the value of the knives of those who possess "real" BK&T Model BK-1s.......

I thought the OP just wanted photos of sterile BK1's. He mentioned me in the OP, so I posted a few photos. Decided to read what I haven't read yet in this thread, and it went off on some strange tangent. WTF?

Just wanted to share my enjoyment of a Sterile Brute that will be Modded and Not For Sale
Ethans Designs are Historical if not yet soon
Bladite showed a Knife of some interest and gave me an idea, I do not design knives, but have and have had a few great ideas

I'm gonna attempt a translation of the OP....Ethan thinks the Brute was fugly and unwieldy; that's why he came up with the KING. The BK-1 is never coming back into production. Nuto respectfully disagrees (I'm interpreting here) about the "fugly and unwieldy" bit; LOVES the Brute. Also great love for Ethan and Becker knives, but like a 3rd grader with a crush, expresses his love by stabbing crushee with a pencil and saying inappropriate things......

Advice to nutoknives: please have someone with a command of the language edit your posts so that nobody misinterprets your love of all things Becker as some kind of deranged obsession.....
 
The brute is a great blade but no match for the 9... Would love to see a 9 with a bit of a recurve though... Just saying
