Brute's The Guys That Got Them and the Guy's That Want Them

Yea, don't see the big hype about this subpar blade. I just sold my last brute and don't regret it at all.

It isn't being reintroduced by Ka-Bar for a few reasons, and one of the reasons is it....... ugh........ just doesn't perform as well as the other knives "ETHAN" has designed.

Not going to say much more, but there are other reasons why I don't care for this blade and my feelings have nothing to do with it's performance.

Now go sell those Brutes and get some real Becker's!

While my BK1 is not a user, I can understand the argument about performance. I have a similar "attitude" towards the BK7, so I only own a NIB Cam BK7 for my collection.

Hype is for The Brute
Granted not best knife from Ethan
Needs to reground as per all owners
But its the Brute and some of Us Like It
Sell a Brute not this guy, by the way you did a great job on the 1 you just got rid of

yeah I bought into the hype for awhile. I had four brutes total two blackjacks and two cams. Sold all of them. Not because I didn't want them. My bk4 and bk9 just worked better and the brutes sat around. Sold to fund other projects.

I could be wrong (correct me if so) but I thought Ethan had zero input on the blade design and it was basically like the bk5. Someone else's blade on Ethan's handle.

Bingo! Except I have no problem supporting Fisk, Ritter, and Reinhardt and will continue to use my 5's, 15's, 12's, and 21's.

Yeah, could be not the best chopper around, but i believe the brute has it's own and well deserved place among all the beckers blades, i don't understand why, just out of the blue, lots of guys started hating it.

No, not the best performer, but it looks bad ass though, haha. I can't help but love it, even if it's not my go to.

I've never handled the brute, but I heard that it's just incredible for battoning, but not much else. Is this true? I am kinda interested in that "full width" section towards the tip. The aspects that people don't like are the grind and its chopping performance right? Just trying to understand.

She Likes Em

The 9'er will out chop the Brute, toasted toads truth right there. Know what I haven't seen? A chipped or broken Brute, like ever. Slow turtle may be slow but gets to the finish line in one piece.

nope, got those. abused too.

pretty rare to brake a grade 1 machax too

1/4 thick or so is pretty good

Just got the Warrior on this trip
Not thats Its a bad thing
If broken that would suck
Ask Ethan to grind up another
Short chance

I think I understand nuto's confusion... Bladite posted a pic of the "tweener that never was", the one with the recurved blade, and nuto possibly thought this was some other kind of knife, while it actually is an Ethan design-proto. Gotta admit I like it too, and was lucky to handle it at Ethan's 2 years ago. Carry on.

1st Mod idea's was my thought, found out like ok , Love the Brute
Understood not Ethan's Design, no future 1's produced, definately not by me if anyone is reading the thread,
wanted to share a rare Becker with you all that's it
gave all their choice of steel and duration of possession

Come on you gotta love the Brute,
unless you are a little meek of Brute Force
Extreme Force Brute
Hope no Rain on Sunday
