Here's another special order that turned out pretty well. This is the one I got confused with the HIKK. This baby was ordered with no scabbard, karda or chakma. Wood model supplied. Durba made this one, too, and I don't think BT will be disappointed in this effort. About 19 inches and 2 pounds six ounces. 10/10 work by Durba.

I know its been said before, but it needs to be said again---it is amazing what the kamis can do with steel. You'd think after decades of pounding metal into khuk shapes, that stuff like this and the Katana etc.. would send them into a tail spin!

Uncle Bill, this brings up a question: Do the kamis like the variety, or do they live in a constant state of fear of what the crazy Forumites will want next?

Uncle Bill, you need to put some preservative on that deck. Oh, by the way, nice sword... (frantically going through the piggy bank)

heh

I like, I like. Is it going to see someone about a custom sheath?

(But then again this is the HI Forum, what is there not to like???)

This sword looks almost 'Biblical' in it's
appearance and size?

Now you're talkin'!! Is it just me or is this thing begging to beat the hell out of somethin'?
Just don't make one over three feet, otherwise I'm gonna have to start selling vital organs to pay for my wish list.

That looks slightly like a Maintz pattern Gladius, though about 2/3 the length.

hey Uncle...out of sheer curiosity, could that be done in a 3ft+ length with a carved handle?

regards
Matt

:
Who needs a karda and chakma anyway?

If one carries another blade of suitable hardness you have both in one.

And I still like Uncle Bill's idea of sharpening the chakma giving you 2 kardas in case one is lost.
And I still want them with a khukuri, they're just part of the rig and I feel that a rig without them would be like a khukuri without a cho. It just wouldn't be a "Real Khukuri."

Have to admit that though it's probably very nice, it doesn't turn me on. Then again next to the computer table on the side next to the busted foot are three double edged Atlanta Cutlery Qama's, 22" overall and 17" blades, descendents of the Roman gladius.
