BUCK 110 Auto

Thanks Jeff! I was getting ready to dive on into one for better or worse!

I wish they would add this to the custom knife shop. I bet they would sell a lot of them. Still holding out for nickel bolsters if not.

I think we will see a 110 Auto in G10 or Micarta.

I received this knife about a week ago and it’s a really nice knife. I’ve been carrying it since then. I was hearing what I thought was the spring when closing it, but after flushing it out with WD40 a few times and using the blower on my air compressor to clean it out then lubing it, the noise is gone and it is quiet and action is much smoother.

I have a question about the sheath. I know it’s got the piece of leather in it on the snap side to make it fit into the sheath tighter. Does it matter which side the button is on when carrying it in the sheath? The way I would usually put a 110 or 112 into a sheath would have the button on the belt side, not the snap side. Just wanting to make sure on this point. Thanks.

It was designed to be in the sheath button up. In thinking it through, it might not matter if the button is down.

Thanks for posting this, DR, I thought the same thing. Just got through flushing and lubing mine...gritty/spring sound gone, better action, too. Preston

Glad to help. I’ve bought a few 110s and a few 112s the last month and after doing it to one, I did it to all of them. It made quite an improvement. I read about doing that on this forum as while back.

Curious what others use for flushing and lubing these. Guessing that the flush would be with WD40 followed by compressed air, but what do most use for the final lubrication?

Spring noise goes away if you have that you going on with flushing.

I use Nano Oil or mineral oil.

One improvement I'd like to see with the 110 Auto would be to be able to buy one in Ca. :p

I got one Saturday at a local gun & knife show. As of August 14th, 2017 switchblades are now legal in Illinois, but as a southpaw, I didn't want to order one without trying it first, to see how hard it would be to push the button with my left index finger.

No trouble at all, this thing is quickly becoming my favorite 110 variations!!!

Butter smooth and tight lockup, Buck hit a total home run on this one!!

Does not make sense you also need a FOID card for shooting guns to buy the Buck knife or any auto over the counter in Illinois.

Nope, but I learned a long time ago, trying to find "logic" in Springfield is like trying to find bigfoot. Other than there have been some sightings of bigfoot. :)
