Buck 110 Collector tins

OldMan1 said:
Thanks for the replies, gang. I already had the tin, but have left it in the shinkwrapping and went to Wally World tonight and bought a 110 for $29.95 (nice, easy opening, firm lock, no wobble).
One thing I did notice, however is that black, cloth/mesh whatever, rather than leather.
Welcome to BladeForums!

There are three Buck 110 sheaths that I'm aware, that are currently available. The first is the well-known black leather one. The second is the black padded Cordura nylon sheath, that is available with the Wal*Mart $29.95 boxed knives. The third is a black nylon sheath that is very thin, light, and some say, "cheap," that comes included with the Commemorative Buck 110 tins.

Dick's Sporting Goods has them for $10 more. I'm going to check there and see if there is a difference in the sheath.
Chances are, for that extra $10, you'll be able to get your Buck 110 with the original style leather sheath. As far as I know, Wal*Mart is the only place that sells Buck 110s with nylon sheaths. I prefer the nylon, myself, but, that's just me.

The reason I was originally asking is that when I see them on many online knofe stores they are usually $50+ and I was wondering if there was a difference in any of the materials.
I think that if you see Buck 110s at online knife stores for $50, you should ask the stores what's so special about them. For $50, they should have a leather sheath, at least! ;)

I would be willing to go back and get more for anyone who wanted one.
I figure with tax and postage, it would take $20 - $21 for me to break even. I'll be going back tomorrow, so if anyone wants one, email or PM me. OldMan1
Oh my...
Tempted, I sit here asking myself "WWJD?". I think I need to go up to the Prayer Tower for this one.
The mind is willing, but the flesh is weak...

BTW, did you open any of the ones you just bought? If so, still seeing the wobble?

Went to WalMart today and noticed that they had the 110 Commemorative Tins back in stock. I had bought the last one they had two weeks ago for $23.44.
They probably had some of their Commemorative Buck 110 tins back in their inventory, rather than taking all of the display space needed to show them all.

The price now is $16.00. They had 37 of them. I bought 4.
I'm glad that they are selling the remainder of their Buck 110 tins for $16...but, they might get further reduced in price, if they don't sell as quickly as the store wants. I purchased one for $11.65 at one of my local Wal*Marts, but, it was the last one the store had, and it might've been the 110 that the customers could look at, because it was missing its shrink wrap. It might also have been mistakenly placed with Christmas items that were marked 50%-off.... ;)

That's very kind and generous of you. I've noticed that many Buck Knife owners are generous.

I hope that I'm not breaking any Forum rules by not listing these for sale in that section, but I'm not buying them for re-sale there (EBay maybe in a few years), at most I figure I'd be making a dollar or less per person (just enough to cover packing materials, gas and postage.
I've seen others offer to purchase Buck 110 tins and send them to those that need or want them, or, the Wal*Mart stores in their particular areas have sold-out. So far, I haven't seen any of their posts removed for being against the rules of BladeForums.

My WalMart is in Normal, IL. Check yours, but if I can help out anyone, I'm willing to.
Thanks to reading your posts today, I believe they've given me the energy to return to my local Wal*Marts, and see if they've also reduced the prices on their Commemorative Buck 110 tins. I'd kinda given up looking, because, the last time I'd checked, all of the Wal*Marts near me, that still had them, were selling them for the original $23.44 price.

Thank you, again, for being so generous to your fellow Buck Knives enthusiasts!

I also add my thanks, to you and the others here who have offered to share the deals on Buck knives at all the outlets!!! :) ;)

  ...Whether we're into Buck knives or not...this is quite a group we have here...Would be hard to find a nicer buncha people...

I did try out the ones at Dick's Sporting goods and they had the same cordura sheath as WallyWorld for $10 less.
I have not opened any of the commemorative ones as a couple are for gifts and the others I will EBay at some time in the future. If the blades are wobbly, let them send them back to Buck for repair. I have to think that removing the shrinkwrap would lessen their value on EBay. I'm not trying to get rich in these, but If I can make $5+ on each knofe, it's a decent wage for killing spare time.
I looked at a 119 at WalWorld. Black handle, cordura sheath. Also found out that Dick's Sporting Goods website has no connection to their stores. Strange, huh?
Anyway, I'm looking for a 119 with a cocobolo handle and a leather sheath. Anyone have a good website to recommend?

oldman1 what walmart has them for $16.00 the walmart by farm and fleet or the one on the eastside ?

The Eastside one off of Veteran's Pkway. They're in the glass case in Sporting Goods, exactly across from where the other knives are. Almost missed them, cause they were all under the glass.
Happy hunting.

Change your post to state that you are offering a "Buck Key Chain/Bottle Opener in a commerative tin for whatever $$$, and, BTW, it comes with a free Buck 110".
Then you could sleep at night!

Great idea!!! BTW, I might have a leather sheath for sale that comes with a free Alpha Hunter. <G>
BTW, Today I took back my first one, got $25.20 and went and bought 3 more. The salesclerk got a little annoyed with me when I specified which 3 I wanted. She said, "Sir, they're all the same".
I replied, "Yes Maam, I know that, but the shrinkwrap on some of them won't take as good a picture and looks like it might have been tampered with."
She'll prob. go home tonight and tell her family about the crazy guy who was concerned with how the shrinkwrap looked.
If she's there next time, I can tell her that I'm giving the knives away, but selling the shrinkwrap. That should leave her talking to herself.
