Buck 110 - CPM 154, S30V or 420HC?

No votes for the original 440c? :D

Me. My 1979ish model is 440c. Fantastic...hard to sharpen but wow...very hard and wear resistant.

I'd want a second one in 154CM or S30V...I'm fixing to pick up a 420HC on a 119 and learn about that steel on that fixed blade.

Wow, that's a 2008 post of mine! :D

I think that the topic is still relevant :)

I recently purchased three 110 - 440C (from secondary market), S30V and 420HC (all new).

There is one moment - I am a city dweller, often come across synthetic and abrasive materials,
in these circumstances, the best behaved S30V. It is long to keep a sharp edge.
In second place old 440C, 420HC a little worse.

But the most difficult to sharpen S30V. With modern technology, now very accessible cheap diamond sharpeners.
This makes grinding easier.
In the long march, where there is little civilization or villager I would recommend 440C and 420HC.
They are easy to sharpen any means (even roadside stone) :)
