Buck 110 from Walmart

How so, Hubbard?

I clearly said: "Personally, I doubt that Buck intentionally or as a company policy sells any seconds."

???????????????????????????

Why so upset?

So Buck can't be taken at their word or at least the word of their representative but the folks with issues and no photos or proof of the issues are unbiased and should be taken at face value. Got it.

That's not what I said at all.......but thanks for putting bad words in my mouth.

Now you've got Hubbard all riled up for no reason.

I've purchased enough knives from Walmart to know they are not seconds. Mine have all been perfectly fine. On top of that, Walmart and Buck have worked together to bring us some really unique special knives that you can only get at Walmart. So, listen to the hogwash in this thread or rise above it. The choice is yours.

Ummmmm........Buck is not going to come here and admit it if they sell their seconds to WalMart.

WalMart is not going to come here and admit it if they get special pricing buying seconds.

Just not gonna happen, right? Think about it.
.

So this discussion really rests on the input of the two or three unbiased people who post here.......all the rest of it is either offense or defense and must be taken with a grain of salt.

Not a large enough sample to make a decision.

Personally, I doubt that Buck intentionally or as a company policy sells any seconds......maybe it sometimes happens unofficially when there's a pile of knives with small problems and somebody says, "We don't have time to fix all these........let's just send them to WalMart They'll take anything!!!"

:D :D :D

I've defended Buck along similar subjects. You really should stop thinking the worst about Buck knives. There have been lot of references over the past few months and when someone stands up its a two man dog pile on them.

It's clear where Buck stands. Think about it. You heard it from the man.

I have bought a considerable amount of Buck 110's from walmart as door prizes for dealer events. 50 plus.I inspect them all and not one has had an issue,

If my Buck knives from Walmart are "seconds", the better quality Bucks would be unworldly. I'm 3 for 3 so far. :) You do have a good point. It's only logical to assume that IF THEY DID do something like that, they wouldn't SAY IT. Why would they openly admit something like that? No way. So I entirely understand what your saying but it just isn't the case here. But again I get the idea of what you meant.
Anyway, like you, I'm CERTAIN they don't do this. I may have been EXTREMELY lucky because they truly are perfect and I'm so grateful for it. I'd hope that if someone does get a bad egg, they don't give up on the brand as a whole because if they did they are missing out on some really great stuffeses!

Hi Vorpal,
It is still going strong, same stuff different dealer. You are not allowed to voice your opinion. There are two sides to every story. Here if you say anything against Buck(which is your right) you get punched ,choked, pinched, pommeled and vilified. Your Turn.

My very first Buck 110 came from Wally World years ago. I can't even remember how long ago it was. It's centered, no wobble, locks up tight, the grain on the wood is beautiful, and she was as sharp as can be right out of the box. I've never had to send it in.

I've also been to that same Wally World and looked through over a dozen 110's and not found a "good" one. Good being subjective. No seconds, just no "perfect" (in my eyes) examples. Would literally any one of them been good enough, stayed sharp enough, and had decent enough F&F to get the job done without being sent in? Absolutely.

It's the luck of the draw, it's not the store it came from. I believe Hubbard's statement whole heartedly. We are 'knife knuts' and there will never be an example of ANY knife, or brand, that we'll all unanimously agree on.:D

Very informative. Great contribution.

Anyway, back in reality, where noone attacked Vorpal nor told him he couldn't voice his opinion...

Exactly. Thanks for the common sense post. As I said, I doubt that it happens at all and if it does it would be an unofficial and non-policy act by a couple of busy employees just as I stated. That happens to be the only way I could think of that it would happen. I guess a couple people here can't even stand that scenario. Well, I commend them for their radical, unswerving and bellicose loyalty to Buck, anyhow, even if a bit low on common sense.
:)

Well, the funny thing is, I didn't even say anything against Buck.

But I guess I came too close.

:D :D :D

The boys are making it sound as if you are being FACITIOUS in post # 42. Nothing new wondering why the brass in sheaths turn green overnight and the Bucks in cases are the same way I put them in there. Now I have taken the knives in sheaths out and waiting on some new cases to put them in after I clean them up.

Well, Michael........Crazy was probably referring to your "punched ,choked, pinched, pommeled and vilified" comment.
I didn't get "punched ,choked, pinched, pommeled and vilified."
:)
Not hardly.
Anyhow, I repeat that this kind of thread is not usually conducive to finding real answers.
It just develops into a debate between loyalists and those who question.......and not many unbiased contributors.
It's ok. Life goes on.

NO Yogi Berra New York Yankees. Yes you are correct I am trying to break the knife sickness but it still creeps into my vocabulary. You are also correct about life. {" Little league is a very good thing because it keeps the parents off the streets."} - Yogi Berra

:)

I think Casey Stengel and Yogi used to talk to each other.......they understood each other and nobody else could make head or tail of it.
