Buck 110 from Walmart

Yes #66 was good. Look through some of Yogi's twisted saying. I despise Makael -TAH!! He isn't the innocent puppy he portrays. He likes to mix it up himself and now cry's the forum is going to fold.
Michael, Whatever. Your voice is silent like your hearing ability.

WOW, a post from you that isn't edited within an hour of posting it........This is an epic breakthrough, maybe you should do a little proofreading before you post in the future, or maybe just be done posting. Get Vorpals # and you two can text and bug the shit out of each other only.........

Love to have a face to face with you and Makael and polish your brass.[/QUOTE]

Not sure what this said before you edited it....but as far as your brass polishing reference, I'm flattered, but happily married...

Sorry, didn't want to break my silence, not for these jokers
It was a nice neighborhood, once upon a time.
Not too long ago.....sorry I am not doing a better job of finding a solution, I realize these 2 want me to react, so I think silence is my only action until BF's bans these 2 trolls/or what ever you want to call them. Sorry MICHAEL, not banned, not even an infraction.......just silent till your gone.......

This thread alone has had 5 reported post's within a matter of a few hours, I haven't taken the time yet to look at the history and try to figure out exactly what's going on... trolling, threats, insults.

I will say this, initially I was just going to lock the thread and move on but I've changed my mind, I'm going to leave the thread open and if there is ANY more trolling, threats, insults from ANYONE for ANY reason I can promise you despite who you are or how long you have been on this site you will not like my response.

It appears that the two major issues with the 110 are:
1) Blade Centering
2) Scale quality/matching.

I began reading this thread to learn more about a specific knife, potential issues with that knife, and possible solutions.

Now the question I have...
Is there an easy way to correct the blade centering issue?

Mechanically I can see setting the knife upright/slight diagonal on a stable surface, and giving the side with greater clearance a slight wack with a plastic hammer.
Sort of shifting the liners/scales a few thousandths.
I also understand the pitfalls of doing this.

Is the above an acceptable method for correcting these slight mis-alignments?
Is there a better non intrusive way to do this?

good question and i do not know. id just live with the off center. curious to see responses on your question.

Wow, once again, when it seems things were OK and I don't check in a day or so heck breaks loose. Come on guys B13 is being nice. And I am embarrassed.

Threatening physical harm will not be allowed on the Buck forum, cussing each other will not be allowed on the Buck forum. If you have to have a p-----g contest then take it to one of the other forums that allow that. You are put notice....

Everyone has a right to express their personal purchasing/quality issues. 'WE' on the Buck forum will NOT attack those differing opinions with bar room replies. If someone comes in and acts like a troll PM me, I check PMs several times a day. I will have a talk with new moderator Jeff Hubbard on how far he needs to let things go as discussions take place before he defends Buck Knives, as it is their forum. I was proud he would get to do this so we can have his company insight on questions, what a welcome party we throw.

I telling everyone to calm down. There can be a negative opinion and you can support or defend you experiences, just be decent. Don't type knee jerk replies that will get you in trouble. (What is this stuff anyway, bad day at work ?, finishing off a 12 pack ?) This is a moderator warning, I am going to start giving fines if you people go out of bounds. You people know the limits, you have been around here long enough. Most of you are not newbies. Don't you realize some folks enjoy stirring up trouble. All regular Buck forum members have a higher standard than unknown folks.

I have read the entire thread and it was going along fine till the shoving contest started. I will be talking to Jeff Hubbard about his powers as a moderator and I will express to him he will have to let a little complaining about Buck experiences take place. But, wake up here, the wild antics and harsh comments IS running folks away from the Buck Forum. Some of which have great photos and useful knowledge for all. They have commented to me they don't like the bitchy talk. You guys had done well a good number of days on discussions lets keep that side going instead of making this a moderator police state. You have people with decent questions, lets see if we can't have decent answers......300Bucks

I'm certain MANY people agree with you Makeal.

My goal for the coming year is to open a knife, and tool sharpening, and repair service.
That's why I am posting in so many forums, and asking so many questions.

It is information on accepted practices I need in lieu of my limited experience.

I was so inspired by this thread, I headed out to the local Wally's to pick one up. Go figure, they were of stock...I am now 0 for 3 attempting to buy one (at different stores, mind you). To me that means they must be a screaming deal and those that manage to snag one are lucky indeed!

Awesome...

I really try to learn and enjoy this forum but there are two people on here that constantly have nothing but b.s to say and ruin it for everybody and I really wish you would both quit. I will just call you Me and Mini Me ( voral and michael). If you don't like the product why are you on this forum. You both sound like Internet ninjas.

Once again please...

I hope this question can be addressed in THIS forum, because I can't see any question that applies more to the topic(s) raised.

As far as blade centering I agree with DM and Makael as long as it's not hitting the side of bolster who cares they're not custom made where they have the time and $$ to do that sort of thing. Anyone that has a knife made with natural materials knows that to have matching scales, handles is nearly impossible. I believe if you read the paperwork that comes with your knife it explains all of that. As far as Buck's quality I think it's second to none and I have had knives from a dozen different makers and to call them up during Christmas time to complain your blade isn't centered and your handles don't match is unreal, I'm surprised they even talked to you. Call any other manufacturer up at Christmas time and complain about something so minor and see what happens with your phone call, eternal hold pattern with the most unnerving music in the world. You can always have your knives made thru the custom shop.

I don't know if replacing the pivot pin would change the centering or not.
