Buck 110 Rules!

110's rock.

When I'm willing to carry a folder on my belt it's my only choice. But I'm picky about belt sheaths so in addition to making several on my own I'm always on the lookout for quality ones to buy.

Last week I found the new "Tube Sheath" by Maxpedition so I order two of them in the large size. I have always been a fan of Maxpedition products because they are by far the best when it comes to nylon type products, and these were no exception. Although the 5" are just a tad big they fit the 110 like a bug in a rug. They are very narrow and not bulky like other sheaths.

I'm keeping these ones because they work, but I'm waiting on the smaller 4" sized model because it will be dead on size wise.

So if you're looking for the nicest non-leather sheath you can get for a 110 I would check these out. at roughly $11 each they are half the price of other quality sheaths and a steal for the amazing quality.

[damn, my gold membership expired, give me a minute to load pics to my web site and I'll post them]

I carried a 110 back in the seventies and got away from them for almost twenty years. I then rediscovered them, it was like finding a lost love. I now have three 110s and three 426 Bucklites. The 110 is an absolutely awesome deal in today's knife market.

Nice Sheaths, Cpirtle. I have two sheaths for my 110 currently, one is the factory leather and the other vertical carry nylon rig style from Raine. Like the leather better because it gives a more comfortable higher ride on the belt.

Vassili:

A few days ago, I received from Pete's shoppe a custom 110 just like yours--oak, brass, rivets, BG-42. What a great combination.

I have a couple of 110's and a 112, love 'em. Great quality-to-price ratio there.
I also really like this knife, which seems to be an apple off the family tree:

about 20 years ago my father found a 110 on the side if the road. He had an eye for stuff like that. I had it for several years before it was lost. A sad day for me. Maybe I will have to get me another
:(

The 110 was my knife when I was in the Army. I bought it in 1996 from the PX. I am no longer in the Army but the 110 is still with me.

Bought my first Buck 110 back in 2002...an elk handled beauty from PCS. They just seemed to multiply after that plus the 112's have joined the pack! :D The 110 & 112 are definitely one of the solidest lockbacks I have ever owned.

I've always felt this was the best of the Buck 110 "knock-off's" and have owned several, currently have a plain edge spear point. Nice knives but not as robust as a 110, it's made by the same Japanese plant Spyderco, SOG and Cold Steel use so it's about that caliber. (which is not bad by any means ;))

UVT, something to consider... wouldnt the next 110 milestone be the first production from Idaho?

The Strikeforce still pretty robust even if it's lighter and sleeker than the 110. I kind of like the slimmer profile and find it easier to carry. I agree with your comparison to Spyderco quality (especially their higher end products) but let's not lead anybody to think these knives are anything like Cold Steel's zytel folders! :)

Another good option for carrying the 110 is in a 45ACP magazine holder. You can get nylon or leather. The leather might set you back some $$, but they are made tough. Get the double mag holder and carry a multi-tool with the 110.

Bought my 110 back in 1977 and still have it although it hasn't seen much use for the last ten years, a Leatherman took it's place on my belt at work where I am required to pack a blade. I believe I paid around $25 for the 110, which was a big chunk of cash to me back then, in comparison the 110's seem like a bargain today. I do find the leather sheath that came with the knife bulky and the belt loop way too large, the sheath flops around on my belt. Like the look of the Maxpedition sheath, I wonder if it would feel less cumbersome carrying the 110 in one of those? Hmm, Post Falls is just 'down the road' a bit from here.
Current problem: got a bad itch for a BM921.

110's are great knives. I am sure folks around here are tired of hearing me talk about my old 110. I have been using a 112fg some over the last year or so and it really is a toss up which I like better.
