Buck 113 Ranger fixed blade W/ scalloped Honduran Rosewood Scales cmp154 drop point blade nickle silver bolsters 8/22 BOTM (not available in Canada)

I think the only thing I can complain about is the lack of a lanyard tube, even though there’s a hole. I almost feel a tube is necessary with wood handles but these would have looked even better without the hole at all.

I'm a little late!

My 113 came in a few days ago. I'm as happy as can be with it! :D I feel Buck does folders under $75, and fixed blades under $150 better than just about anyone else out there. It's nice to see them getting back to what they excel at. This has been the very first BotM this year that has fit those parameters!

I think the covers on mine are absolutely gorgeous! I'm a huge fan of dalbergia species (and ironwood) and this is a perfect example why. It's so beautiful! The overall fit and finish on mine is very, very good. The angle of the grind at the very heel of the blade is slightly off... But other than that, it's basically perfection. :D I think I could have done without the lanyard hole though. No biggie.

I also really love the sheath. I really like Buck's distressed leather sheaths in particular. I might be one of the few here who appreciate the Mexican made sheaths as much or more than the USA made counterparts, lol. Really nice quality.

I started a Vimeo account, so I thought I would try something new (be sure to set to 4k, or another high resolution). :)

Those are some drop dead gorgeous knives folks! I am a big fan of the 110 and 112 scalloped cocobolo BOTMs and have been hoping for a similar offering in the 500 series, bareheaded of course. Does anyone know how the scallops are made in the Buck factory? By hand, CNC'd or some type of sanding jig? For those of you who have more than one, are the patterns identical? I've been thinking about attempting to file and shape a regular 113.

yours looks great too there. a really nice example of the run.

the angle off at heel ya talkin the flat spot at the heel or how the two sides angle to the flat spot on the heel?

So... should be dropping this week?

I really wish folks that start BOTM threads would follow up upon release of the knife and change the thread title to include what the knife actually is.

Lots of folks use this forum as a resource, and it's much easier to retrieve information if what your looking for is in the title of the thread.
Older BOTM threads are nearly impossible to search due to this.
Hence the BOTM sticky thread.

Thanks.

BennyBlade, thank you for updating the title, BUT, I would also like to add my critique to the title. Future reference / searching, I believe more people will look for "August", "2022" instead of "8/22" : )

Future guess - 2023, 124 with scalloped handle.

Add to the family:

110

112

113

124 yes, please !

They’re definitely machine cut and the pattern is the same on the knives. If you look at all these pictures (I and others have 2 different knives side by side), the ridge lines and valleys all match up. Use the bolster and lanyard hole for a reference, all the cuts are in the same places.

Thanks, I'm pretty darn happy with it. :D

I'm talking about the angle of the grind where the two sides transition into the flat spot... If that makes any sense, lol. The edge angle is about 15 or 16 degrees on each side until you get near the heel. Then it changes to about 10 or 11 degrees or so. It's because of the little flat spot where the grinds terminate at the plunge. I think the flat spot is just a little more pronounced on this specimen so it's throwing the angle off a bit more than usual.

Nothing ten minutes on the stones can't fix. :)

gotcha.

Well the price is the same as the build it yourself custom 113 with NK guard, Ironwood, with S30V blade. I don't like the fact that it may come with blond rosewood the looks like oak, or an orange color, the dark color with nice grain is what I'm hoping mine will look like. Like others have said I missed the 112 & 110 variations of this style Buck!
Do you have any 113’s left, I would like to get one with stag handles
