Buck 113 Ranger fixed blade W/ scalloped Honduran Rosewood Scales cmp154 drop point blade nickle silver bolsters 8/22 BOTM (not available in Canada)

This is one of Buck's nicer BOTM knives.
I'm quite pleased with mine.

I really wish folks that start BOTM threads would follow up upon release of the knife and change the thread title to include what the knife actually is.

Lots of folks use this forum as a resource, and it's much easier to retrieve information if what your looking for is in the title of the thread.
Older BOTM threads are nearly impossible to search due to this.
Hence the BOTM sticky thread.

Thanks.

Well, I'm going to be that guy.

I received mine today - looks incredible ! Now that that is out of the way, there was slight polishing compound on the wood of the handle. And now that I know what to look for, I see what I believe to be polishing compound on a couple of the pictures in this thread (Post # 64, 70, 80). I only mention this because, with especially the lighter colored handles, the polishing compound gives an inaccurate look to the variations in the grain.

For example, I got a beauty that is 3/4 light to 1/4 dark on front side of the handle that blends into a dark back side. I could not be happier. But, at first I thought I had, as mentioned in Post #74 - "Many scallops cut down into darker grain leaving those dark shadow type marks along the handle".

These dark marks turned out to be polishing compound on a few of the scallops. Once polished away, the look changed, not by much, but there was a change in the overall appearance.

This is the end of this Public Service Announcement.

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I love mine : )

I enjoy cleaning up and polishing a new knife.
I get to look it over and of course I can find flaws if I look closely enough.
Yet I'm mostly impressed with the overall quality of this one..... Considering it's mass produced.👍
I believe it's very well executed.

Nice job Buck.
More like this one please.😊
Thanks.

There were a few spots of polishing compound on my two knives but I assure you I thoroughly cleaned them prior to taking the pics for this thread. Any dark spots you see on my knives are all natural baby! 😁

Didn't see any compound on yours. That tan colored one is a grand slam, out of the park, home run in my book !

Is the other side matched well ?
