Hey guys just ordered a 119 & 110 in 5160 BOS ht.trt.,am pretty excited should be some tough hombres, actually kind of hard to believe buck is actually doing it (they usu.don't stray from stainless),but hey stranger things have happened and they have had some other offerings in 5160.

I saw the 110's. I like the choice of scale material on them... Now I gotta look at the 119

As much as I like the idea of a 5160 110, it seems a little fishy to me.

First photo the stamp is a pretty standard 110 stamp but no date code.
Second photo is a 100th anniversary Buck sheath.
Third photo has a Custom shop stamp.
Fourth shot has BOS 5160, but looks like a PhotoShop job to me. Also, there is a "C" and a "U" faded on the blade itself.

The last point that doesn't seem right to me is a custom 100 for the price of a standard?

I think ill hold out until one of the gurus can confirm the authenticity.

It does seem rather odd that there has been no talk of these knives from Buck. I looked at the sellers other items, and they have quite a few Buck knives for sale.

I just sent the seller a message asking for more information on the 5160 knives. I told them I couldn't find any info on these knives on Bucks website, and asked if they were a special run done for them...

I will post the response when I get one.

The seller quickly replied to my request for more info on these knives. The reply was brief, but they said these knives were a special run exclusively for their company...

Kind of like the DP 110 that DLT had.

I would expect photos of the actual knives rather than stock photos. I think I'm going to pass though I'd love a 5160 110. I'm just not convinced...

That steel is some good tough stuff. You buy 200 knives up front and Buck will build it for you. Anyone have a photo. DM

I guess you have to go off a sellers reputation and what else they sell. Both appear to be okay. Still, it would be nice to have a little more assurance, like if Buck could confirm such an order was processed for the seller. I'm crossing my fingers this is legit. I don't need a 110 in 5160. Scratch that, I do need one in 5160. I don't know why, but I do.

Good, post some photo's when you have it. Now which one are you going to get?

Several things jump out at me when looking at the listings like the lack of quality and consistent pictures. Why does the tang stamp not match in the full view picture to the picture of just the stamp? Where's the Buck logo on the handle? Not getting that wasn't an option for us. The first thing we did was go out and shoot quality pictures of the product. The price is suspect too. When you need to buy 300 of each variation, of which they have several, you don't shell out that kind of money to profit a $5 bill (best guess on my part) after ebay, paypal, and shipping fees.

If anyone can figure out a fake I am sure it'd be a guy in this forum. For now I won't be holding my breath.
