In EEE's earlier post ( http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=545225 ) with photos of his 119, this leather defect does not seem to be apparent, but then again the photo magnification of the handle is not as great either, so can't tell for sure. So perhaps EEE can provide us further informaltion regarding the quality of his particular knife, but this is definitely not up to the quality standards of what I would consider to be a Buck LE.

+1 from me. I've got the above pictured knife also and the handle on this $50 knife is flawless. I'm a huge Buck fan Flash, but I would expect higher quality than what you got.
 
Sorry --that knife looks like S---!

Simply unacceptable---don't know how much the LE's go for---but betting you paid quite a bit more than what a standard production model goes for.
 
Where did you guys buy your stacked-disk 119LE's??? I'm thinking I'll pick one up...and I don't mind these less-than-perfect examples... :)

Mine came by way of Peru today, 'Trax! A very nice example of a leather spacered handle and what I would expect with all things considered. The first thing I am going to do is rub my favorite leather conditions into it and warm things up a bit with a hair dryer....not hot-just warm.....and enjoy the stuffins outta it!
Count me as a Happy Camper!

Buckaholic you did it know, shame on you I did not need the big leather handled knife and was trying to avoid the temptation but my dog’s got a birthday coming up and that Pathfinder looks nice. Thanks!
