Today, I'm a happy man!

I just found and bought a black Buck 560/ (a 1993 model I believe).

First, an Idaho Buck 110 from Wal-Mart.
Then an S30V Alaskan Guide 110 from Cabela's.
And now, a titanium 560 from The Knife Shoppe in Ft. Mill, SC (don't bother, it was his last one).

And now I'm going to see if I can send it back to Buck for a blade made of S30V or BG-42!

I do have a few questions however...

Does anyone know how much the 560 weighs?
And does anyone know what year the 560 was first produced?

Thanks,
Allen.

Very nice find Allen:thumbup:

The 560BT Catalog # 2078 was first produced in 1993 thru 1999 according to the info. on the BCCI website. No info. on its weight. Preston

Thanks for the replies.

I'm really enjoying this 560 and it's been in my hand or on my hip since I bought it!
It is my new EDC.

Now I need to find another one to keep as a back-up.

Cheers,
Allen.

allenc,

look in my profile and shoot me an e-mail if your looking for another one.

You know, mine has a 110T marking on it instead of 560. Whats up with that?

There was a thread not too long ago [maybe w/Joe Houser?] explaining that they put the 110 blade on some when the 560 tang stamped blades ran out...It's the same blade... ;)

IMHO, I would find a more common 560 to re-blade and not touch the black one. Don't see that many of those!

allenc has contacted me about my 560. If he decides he doesn't want it, I'll let you guys know. :)

Also...He says the blade is Titanium...Ummm???

Chickentrax...if you are serious, I will bid on it. I am already dipping into my FEB Crack Fund (read as "Buck Habit")...and that is a blade I've been thinking of getting (also looking for a 186).
Let me know...

Trax, I'm thinking you can relax, still more than an hour to go, that's when it will get crazy. I'd say I'd take if you get it...but I got one last night on the exchange here on Blade Forum. Preston

Go ahead; I've decided to make my own. ;)

BTW: If there is anyone reading this with a 186 and could take some measurements for me, I'd appreciate it! :)

Resisting temptation, but I'm thinking the same...there will be a feeding frenzy soon.
Don't recall what the last one on e-bay went for, but it was more than the current $39 this one is listed at.
But the 560 is on my wish list:

110 Alaskan (en route)
110 FG
112
55 (thanks again for the pic Preston. Like Mike, want one for when a sheath is inappopriate...like when I'm sportin' my Speedo's)
560
186
BCS 110 Damascus

Here's some recent numbers for 560's...

Item number: 6599504912 US $78.99

Item number: 6599504904 US $56.06

Item number: 6599587582 US $127.50

And today - Item number: 7214867482 US $55.00

The 186's have been in the ~$200 range...
