Buck At Work

I try to keep it from cutting against the plate. I'll keep the bones between the blade and plate. Quail is tender enough to merely peel off
the meat using your fingers. But I only do this when my wife is not looking... DM:)

Say what, c'mon Dave your supposed to pick him up and naw it off the bone like you do chicken, ribs, and squirrels.

My only contribution to this thread is to say. I had a rescued Brittany that would go on point to my mothers feather duster!

I hunted with her several times. The only pheasant we got flushed too close to a camp site to shoot at. Then flew into a camper and broke its neck.

We have better weather today and I took my dogs out to try and find quail. My black dog pointed (the German Short-haired was working farther right)and they flushed. I downed one and got them on the area. I had them searching in the wrong spot as the quail was further. So, being certain the bird went down I kept them working in the area. Then my black dog found it, picked it up, then put it down to change holds. That's when my German Short-haired grabbed it and brought it to me. Ha, somethings are out of my control but competition among them brings efficiency. Here's the rooster. DM

Same thing happened to me hunting today with my best friend, his lab Cooper and Dutch. Got a duck down and both dogs were on it, Cooper won...I had to call Dutch off to save the bird. I'll breast it using, ol' reliable my Buck 118. This is Dutch pictured. Preston
