Buck Clearance Sale...?

The fact that the Strider/Buck relationship is finished marks the end of an era. Owning one of these knives records that era.

Bought one for the same reason and of course the fact that it's one heck of a knife didn't hurt either.

This is the first sale that I've seen at the Buck web site. Maybe longer term BCCI Club and BladeForums members have seen such a sale before, but I never have. It's almost like letting a kid loose in a candy store....

I can't remember this happening. I am tempted to get more for presents. I kind of wonder if this will under cut the dealers they have to keep happy? Personally I like it and I hope they keep it up.

I placed an order for an SBT a few days ago. Out of curiosity I checked New Graham and it went for $106 but it was listed as "Out of Stock".

The Police knife was $117 everywhere I looked.

A couple of the knife prices listed on the first page of this thread have now been increased, since yesterday.

The Strider models have increased in price from $75 up to $95.

The Police Knife has increased in price from $40 up to $70.

It appears that "the early bird catches the worm" applies here.

Interesting that they would raise their prices at this point--maybe the demand was overwhelming?

I'm glad I got my order in. Now I wish I would have ordered a spear point Strider.

The Police Knife (882BKX) is now $154 on the Buck site.

My bank is showing that the 6-19-06 charge of $43.10 to Buck Knives is "pending". Hmmm... I am worried. :o :(

Also the Police knife is no longer on the "Specials" page.
You're right. Also, the other Striders and Mini-Striders have been taken off of the page...and have been returned to full price.

I don't believe that you have any reason to be worried. Buck is a honorable and honest company, and if their web site was charging $40 for a knife when you paid for it, that is what you'll be charged. If Buck were to do anything different from that, I would imagine that you would be contacted and informed about it.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant that it was around $117 everywhere else I looked.

I picked up a Police knife for $40 at the Buck Clearance site--before the price increase to $70, and ultimately, the return to MSRP of $154.

My order of a Police, a Revolution XT, and an Alpha Hunter shipped a few days ago according to a Buck email notification.

Just returned from a terrific walk thru the new Tualatin National Wildlife Refuge (birds) just down the road a bit from me. Really enjoy watching those huge Herons come in for a landing by stalling just above the ground and floating to a stop light as a feather.

I found a message on the machine from the Buck store: "The three 882s I ordered over the weekend are scheduled for delivery today." There was no mention of price or sale or controversy. The mystery lingers on.

I would like to see the Strider/Buck collaborations continue and see both companies thrive.

Best,

oregon
