canadian1, I just emailed you a listing for a 110 blade using the search terms suggested above. Can't tell if it's in the 425M steel/1987 you're after, but it's a 110 blade for sale. Good luck.
 
thank you for your recommendation, i know you might not believe this, but stuff like that would get tied up at canadian customs no question about it, its a good suggestion and i truly do appreciate it,the error on my part was i actually believed that this was doable, read the post,you`ll see the many people saying so, i`m still waiting on a couple of emails,but i aint holding out hope, go ahead and ban me call me a whiner, i call you quitters, it pisses me off about buck, but you`ve seen that movie already ttfn
 
I'm sorry, but I don't know what to tell you. You've been given contact info for people who can swap blades for you. You've been given an ebay listing for a spare 110 blade. You refuse to buy a new knife to swap blades, or to simply have a new knife.

I understand being attached to your hunting knife, and you don't have to throw it away. But nothing lasts forever, and a quarter century is a hell of a run for a tool that's been used hard. The ball's in your court. ;)

Striders, Emersons, Benchmades and Kershaws make it across the border no problem, even the assisted openers.

what province do you live in, i`m on a first name basis with the boys at Canada customs, i`ve had a slo blo fuse held up at canada customs because they didnt believe the paper wrk for 90 days,

no offense, but i really wasn`t looking for that,and i did mention i didnt want to deal with ebay , i was under the impression ,an opinion i formed by information posted in this thread, that these blades were out there, all you have to do is look, ,i`m still looking , i`m looking for a better steel preferably s30v,even high carbon, most of all i really and truly do appreciate the input thanks

ps please no one recommend this or that brand etc, i have an eese , spyderco,,buck,mora, what i dont have and what i do want,i mentioned already

Then how about a great new 420HC (High Carbon)? I can send you a link to a place that will do that for you very reasonably.;)
 
i can see where this is going hahaha , but just in case ok `ll bite do it edit=what you people call whining,i`m ok with it,,,when i go hunting,and don't see an elk or tracks ,or rubs,or scat,on the first day of the season should i give up....thats what i`m doing here `i am hunting, for a better blade for the ol hunting knive, a lot of the input are tracks,are rubs, a lot of scat too

there are many reasons buck discontuned the up grade experment
and it was an expermentmental 'what if we did this ' as i under stand
one thing is there was lot of complants more then made the people there kind sorta umhappy to do it
as i under stand from conversations with buckaroos there
first
to put a custom steel blade in a knive took that blade from inventory for the custom shop!
thus every one used to up grade ment one less custom shop knife buck could sell
another
some times buck ran outa a blade steel and thus would put a substute in it
and gee the owner would complain ... why why why.... could not make them happy
that alone would have made me wants ta stop right quickly and tooke'm out to the wood shed fer education...

to me when i hears of all de trouble that come from it
gosh darn i would not have done it long my self attall

thanks dave but i`ve a lot of experience using this type of steel,, 25 years.., although i never tried cutting paper with it,or have it in a display case do you think its a good steel for that....seriously though its ok steel, just ok, and if dosent pan out i may very well send it in to buck , my fear is that soon as i do that i will stumble upon the ultimate solution and it`ll be 2 little to late thanks anyway

And yes, we really do sweat the small stuff. We also ask a lot of questions of people who use our knives. Some of our best ideas come from the people who use our knives the most. We make knives that meet the needs of our customers. We don’t follow market gimmicks. ...........---but lets not go there again edit=here are many reasons buck discontuned the up grade experment ,,,,,,,,,,,,if the steel is so good to begin with, why would even buck themselves call it an upgrade, ...since you brought it up

gee dat no fun a tall
well the following is what i took from that time when it was stoped
the blade up grade was some thing that was talked about and they thought it would be nice to do for the collectors
and many of the collectors were here on this forum
so they offered to do it and it opened a bag of worms
well
as i said some times they ran out of a steel ...
some times the did not have the steel for a custom shop order that come in due to that some one here up graded
some times they ran out of what the person sending in a knife wanted
and omg you should have heard the fuss over not getting what they wanted!!!
and well to top it off and add insult to injury
on ebay at that time we all kind of knew who was who there and here
and suddenly you started seeing CUSS-TUM bucks on ebay !!!
up graded blades on a 110 and they were sell ing them for
60 to 80 apeace for a 30$ upgrade on a old 110!!!!
pluss some times a knife was sent in and in the process of upgradeing it
it got broke
and well they could not jest replace it with a reg 110 could they
many insisted on a custom knife to replace it !!!
sadly buck had to call it quits on that as it actuley started to generate
NEGTAVE publicity...
i whole heartly could not blame them
so the time of many wanting to get a custom shopee knife for
30 and the old knife was over ...
it is like so many things that buck has tried to do for collectors
a few take advantage of it and make a lot of fuss over not getting their way
yes sadly a few can and have spoiled it for many by their grumbling
many here acted like they are bcci collectors
when in fact they were not
and it was jest bucks mistake thinking that most here were part of the buck club
and it also hurt to see the knives being resold on ebay
dugh.. i would say gee ...
=that i should sell you a knife as a favor for YOU to have
only to find you did not want as for your collection.. but ..
only to make money off of it ?
when i need to feed my family ?
think about it
no other knife company i know of has a no questions asked forever garentee
why push them over any other issue?
well nuff said fer now
