Buck fixed blade Fridays

If you get a chance, stop by Rapid River Knifeworks.
They're on US 2 East of Escanaba.
Nice place, knives and the owner is usually there.

At one time Marbles had a store nearby, but it's all Chinese stuff now anyways...

Bark River Knives in Escanaba doesn't welcome visitors. I've tried.
Have fun!

Bark River Knives use to be really friendly. Visited with them in 2018 and was giving the tour if the place. I wonder if you caught them on a bad day.

Huh.
I called them on the phone and was told they didn't do visitors...

Vehement knives is nearby in Gladstone.

Hess knives is nearby as well,
I'm not sure they are still open tho.

I think so many knife makers all nearby is probably due to the history of Marbles knives having been there and when they closed folks went off on their own.

It's a wonderful area to vacation and visit some knife makers as well.
😁

Thank you for the update. It’s definitely an area rich in knife history. And just so I don’t hijack the thread.A577C01C-1E9B-4BAA-BCE0-505F5085B1C1.jpeg

It’s Friday somewhere.😂 I just touched up my 17 yo daughter’s 102. We’re planning a little outing tomorrow for a few hours and she is planning on taking it. I think she has had it since she was 10 or 11.It’s what she wanted for Christmas one year.

I always think that it’s to small but tonight sharpening it up I realize I can actually get a full grip on it. I might have to look at hers more.

Not sure what will accompany me yet.04DC98DE-D731-4735-B3D3-C76C5A816FD3.jpeg

Nice.
Those brass and cocobolo knives are sure pretty.
Here's the next # up, the 103.
