Buck folders

Likely the red one but the new model with the shield on the clip side. The one shown has shield on back side. 300Bucks

I like that Redwood version, a lot, but have to say I don't really go for the owner's signature all over it.....just me.

If it was to be my only knife, I'm not so sure I'd like it either but for someone like "300Bucks" who is a collector, it's a perfect knife to have.

Fellows, It is a long tradition that the owners of Buck knives, Chuch and CJ Buck sign patrons knife blades with an electric pencil. This occurs at many knife and sportsman shows, many Buck nuts have a least one with their signature. The new model cherrywood scale has the standard emblem on the front scale and the signature is on the reverse.

If you own the company you can put your signature on the knife if you want, we can choose not to buy it as other scales are available. I like the yellow and old black sawcut. 300Bucks

300,
thats the one, forgot about the signature. lol its a real nice looking knife and had one of the better edges of any of the (very small number of) new knives ive held.

if i got one i would probly get either the yellow or black plastic. i like that red wood a lot but id be kind of disappointed if i spilled gas or herbicide on it or dropped it in a creek or something at work.
ymmv.

No knife feels quite as satisfying in the hand as a buck 110. I searched out an older one new in the package on ebay a few years back (better steel) but dang! they are a heavy knife. hence I no longer carry it. I do take it out and fondle it once and a while. I open it, put a drop or 2 of tuff glide in the pivot open and close it a bit to work the lube into the pivot, use it a bit and put it away.

I have been checking for a reply from you but obviously missed a few days! Glad you saw my post. I will take a look at the three I am keeping and see if I can give you a choice. They are all in great condition. I think one is a 420C blade and the two others are the older blade, the S30v. Do you have a preference? How about if I also send it to Buck for you and they can sharpen and polish it. With the older blade, some people complain about the time it takes to sharpen it, so Buck will change the angle of the blade to make it easier to sharpen.
So, I will watch for your response and we will go from there. Didn't know what to do with all those Bucks 112s. Glad to be sending one to someone who wants one but might not have been able to get one!

Hey, sorry! I just responded to your earlier post and didn't see this one. No problem! Thank you for your candid and honest response. I really appreciate it.

Have great holidays!

Backpacking Knife
I have always carried a SAK plus a locking folder

In the mid 70s, I went to buy a Buck lockback ( i suppose it would have been a 112),
But the guy in the knife store showed me the Gerber Sportsman
And that is what I got instead, and I carried that backpacking for years

Early 80s I was given an Opinel as a gift while working in France, and it was much lighter so that became my carry

In 89 I saw a 422 Bucklite in green in a store, great blade and very light
And I carried that through out my Army and reserve service

Recently tried the Cadet and the Stockman, but do not enjoy the thicker hollow ground blades and the three springs

But untill recently my Bucklite 422 was still my backpacking knife
