Buck/Hoodlum knife

I would not worry thats it's not 3/16". I have watched several videos and the knife tapers in the thickness. That is why this knife is around 14oz and many of the others are 20-23oz.

kind of mad that I did not pre order but a certain dealer just jacked up the price on the hoodlum $24! was $146 now $169.99!! kind of a steep jump i think.

They'll do that when something starts selling a little too fast.......I'm sure they're thinking, why not get a little more because we'll be out of stock soon.

;)

That dealer does it all the time with a brand new model.Same thing happened to me last year with the Paradigm.

As much as I love Bucks and I own a bunch, I'm sticking with my ESEE Junglas when it comes to these big knives. Yes, looks like a great design but when it comes to chopping I just prefer a bit more weight. Those extra ounces my Junglas has are going to transfer into less energy needed when chopping and I don't mind packing the added weight around. As some say there's good and bad weight and I personally think the Junglass is nothing but good weight. I'm sure the Hoodlum is a fine tool but give me the 3/16's thickness and 22.5 ounces of my Junglas any day.

May I suggest joining the BCCI. You'll get a discount on the Buck website for two knives a year. That alone is worth way more then the membership price.

Following that logic, you should sell your Junglas and buy a Battle Mistress...32.9 ounces!

I think Buck needs to examine the relationship with the BCCI.

A discount is not much good if they never put the desirable stuff on the website and popular items like the Hoodlum may get on and then be immediately labeled "NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE."

Everything I've bought always "became available" a few weeks maybe a month after it hit the site.

Taking chipshots? LOL! Pesky insects.

It's been stated several times here that the website is LAST to get the good stuff (like limited editions and build-outs, for example) because all dealers have to be filled up first.

First dealers, then the Buck store in Idaho and then and only then the good stuff MAY get to the website........last of all and if there's any left.

If Buck really wants to give people an incentive to join the BCCI, Buck should consider offering a certain percentage of everything to the website at the same time it's offered everywhere else.

 My experience also!

Some people just lack tact and patience Badhammer. Don't worry about it :D

I don't mind waiting. I think that BKI is doing the members a favor by offering the knives at that kind of a discount. They also do a great job producing the exclusives for the BCCI (don't see that as a money maker for Buck), so to be critical of them for taking care of their distributer's and dealers first is silly.

I didn't join BCCI because of the discounts, I didn't even know about them until much later. That's just a bonus as far as I'm concerned and the membership alone is worth it.

 Well said! :D I don't mind either. Besides, it gives me time to decide on how many I "need" :D
