The gravity issue, I agree with the comment above that the momentum of an (upside down) hit like that will also propel the unsecured lockbar down just enough to pop the blade loose. I've owned one of these and they are great knives (in fact, this makes me think about how I need to chase a grey Ghose down again soon), and this locking system is super unique and ingenious, but not perfect.
Only folding knife I trust to hold up to anything like this are lock backs by reputable makers.
You can make every lock fail, but lock backs are the keep it simple stupid answer to "how tough can we make a pocket knife."
