Buck-n-Guns

Tecate Tecate - I didn't realize that BUL was sending us single stack gun now! That looks really nice. How does it shoot?
It shoots great. Crazy accurate. One of my favorite 1911s.
Having been a Colt's fanboy forever I had to look BUL up...looks like a good, well made product.
Here's my Colt's 'Wiley Clapp' 1911, 9mm commander with AG Russell and Chuck Buck's 308 canoe.

Awesome Tecate! Makes that BFR look small! Didn't think that was possible!
At one time, Buck called that blade a Claymore Bowie.
I have heard of the claymore bowie name too, but wasn't sure. I think these are the left-over blades from the Harley Davidson run they did back in the day. If anyone knows for sure, please chime in.

I think I read here that this knife won an award at the last blade show. Figured I would show it off then. One thing I really like with a Damascus blade is that the Damascus does a good job of reducing the attention to the 2023 Limited Edition billboard on the blade. 🤣 My first experience with a Paradigm was the Paradigm Shift auto, honestly I am not fond of the release mechanism (just a little to clunky for me) compared to other Buck autos. But I really do like this release/flip, which is basically the same bolster movement, but it seems much more natural combined with the flip action.

Pictured with a gun I picked up from FFL today. My first Taurus, and might be my last (depends on how it shoots this weekend), Raging Hunter 460 Magnum with 10.5" barrel and compensator. Chambered in 460 S&W Mag and also shoots 454 Casull/45 Long Colt. Out of the box it is missing one of the fiber optic tubes in the rear sight. Not a big deal since I would attach a scope to it anyway, but I did contact Taurus customer support and they say they are going to ship me out an entire new rear sight. I guess I get to see how good Taurus customer service handles issues. Hopefully it is as stellar as Buck's customer service.

and Yes OCEquestrian OCEquestrian I am once again over compensating. 🤣

I think Traditional Bucks go better with lever action especially brass and oak, hunting rifles with wood stocks and old west revolvers or even Black powder.
Glock though i love and have many are more modern Buck or dare i say Spyderco or those kinds of knives.

I owned a S&W 460 XVR ( extreme velocity revolver) heavy duty revolver I would shoot all 3 but very expensive to shoot 460, like $3 a pop. I stuck with 45 LC and saw no reason for me to to have such a powerful gun. Then I went and bought S&W .500. Just too big. I had a squib at the range and the cylinder would not turn, if I could have shot another I might not be writing this. I received 2 free boxes of shells for the squib. I love 1911 in .45 cal. better yet I owned a .357 8 inch barrel super accurate put 8 through a playing card. I had 3 Glocks which I did not care for too much recoil. I sold all my rifles and pistols and just collect knives.

Yep. Definitely an expensive hobby. I still have a S&W 500 Magnum too.

I'll be interested in learning how well that muzzle brake helps tame the .460.
This article is the culprit for me: https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog...s-raging-hunter-460-10-in-review-part-2-of-2/

Per the article "Light .45 Colt loads feel like squibs. The spiciest .45 Colt loads feel like a .38 Special, the .454 hunting loads feel like a .45ACP, and the .460 Magnum loads feel no more stout than a .44 Magnum out of a full-size revolver."

I guess I will find out this weekend. Should be a fun outing.

Go on youtube and they show a .500 in slo-motion might even find for 460 S&W how awesome these puppies are S&W have an extension Muzzle Brake on and you still better hang on.

S&W 500 is manageable. I have shot over 300 rounds thru mine over the years. But my newly acquired BFR 45-70 revolver is another story. Hang on for life with hot loads.

I have shot the S&W 460 once and only once! No muzzle break, just to much for my small frame.

I think most people don't know that the .460 has a longer case/more volume for powder than the .500 and felt recoil is more. What is crazy is the little snubby versions of both!

My wife bought me a Smith 460, I love it. It's not for folks with recoil flinch syndrome. An X frame with an 8 3/8" barrel with muzzle brake is one big and heavy hand gun. I just love 45 caliber weapons, you know like the 45/70 :)
