Buck "Spa" Experiences - Good or Bad?

Is the Forever Warranty still free ?, because I have another 110 that the spring fell out and the blade won’t lock up and I heard it’s covered under warranty free of charge.

I've had a spa treatment on everything from slipjoints and 110/112's to early model 124's and a complete Empress Trio set and all came back in minty fresh shape. Everything was tightened up, sharpened and well groomed. Even sent in a coworkers Vantage Pro that was getting some play and Buck fixed it right up and sent it back razor sharp.

The Buck company takes very good care of their customers and their SPA treatment part of customer service is second to no other knife company. Make sure you do include a very clear note of what you want done with your knife.

Here is a SPA treatment story from a few months ago. My Daughters boyfriend had commented on my knife and said he had a Buck knife at one time, it was long gone. So I started to look for an older 703 slippy, the first one I bought came and it was a two spring and I could see one of the springs was cracked (a common problem with the old two spring version). So I kept looking and found a nice 3 spring version and gifted it to him (he was so happy he was almost in tears). Well I found another 2 spring parts 703 online for almost nothing (broken main blade) and could see the springs were fine, my thought was to send them in and have Buck change the cracked spring and send me back one useable 2 spring knife. Was I surprised when in the box was both 2 spring knives fully repaired and like brand new!

What a great company Buck is, no wonder they are the only knife brand I buy and use!

We will take good care of your knives. Thank you all for the kind words.
I have submitted an update to the Warranty page that clarifies the SPA treatment ($6.95) vs SPA treatment with rust removal ($10)
SPA Treatment=Sharpen, Polish, Adjust

Quick newb question. I've got a 1992 110 and if sent in for a spa will it automatically get the Edge 2000 grind when sharpened or do I need to request that?

If you want a period correct edge, we can do that. If you want edge 2000 we can do that too. Just tell us on the paperwork which you prefer. If you don't clarify, it will get a period correct edge.

Thanks much Jeff.
I'm thinking Edge 2000, but I just gave it a spa treatment of my own, so will wait a minute to send her in just yet...

Excellent service on all 3 knives I sent in for new blades. Came back looking new.

If you're not satisfied, tell them and they'll fix it. You won't find a better SPA and warranty deal anywhere!

Thanks guys! I'll be sending them in this weekend. I can't believe just how much I'm loving carrying the 503 and 703. It does everything I need an EDC knife to do.

Just do it.

I have revived a number of historic old Buck knives and serviced my own Bucklite Ranger size version (422) I bought as a young Marine in the early to mid 1980s. I carry it with me every day.

Wish they'd have some of the old nylon pack cloth Bucklite sheaths around. I have a 1992 Bucklite 426 which could use one of those light and handy sheaths.

Be very specific in your warranty form of the work you are requesting, here is why I suggest that. I had a buck 110, 2 line inverted stamp, brass spacer. It was the oldest in my collection but the blade was scratched up. It was purely cosmetic, the blade was rock solid otherwise. I emailed Buck pictures to see if they thought they could remove the scratches, they assured me they could. So i sent the 110 in for the spa and got it back rebladed. I emailed Buck and they said they were very sorry. As all have said and I agree, Buck has a great service.

SPA at Buck means......."Sharpen, Polish, Adjust."

Do you get a polish at your refreshing spa?

I have only used the Buck Spa once, but was extremely pleased with the result - especially the Edge 2000 that Buck put on my Two-Dot Folding Hunter. OH

How is the spa service paid for? Do you send payment or is it billed?

You send a check for 6.95 per knife along with the knives. I recommend you go on the Buck website and download/print the warranty repair form, it covers the SPA treatment also and they get all the info they need to do what you want to be done...It's purdy slick...
