Buck "Spa" Experiences - Good or Bad?

So....I got all 9 of my knives back from the Buck Spa. I can’t post pics, but if you ask me if I’m happy, I’ll simply reply “Oh yeah, we happy!” (in my John Travolta voice)

I have a 110 I need to send in for repairs and reading this thread is very encouraging! It's a 2 dot my dad had and kept in his Unit 1 medical bag, I had forgotten he even owned that knife; and from the looks of it he certainly used the stuffing out of it. I'd rather not replace the blade (even though the very end of the tip is broken off to the tune of 1/16th of an inch or so) but I'm pretty certain I need to replace the lock bar. When I send it in, will Buck call or email me to figure out a price for the repair service (as this would certainly not fall under the SPA service I imagine).

They can reprofile the tip so I doesn’t need to be replaced. It’ll just be a hair shorter. I would imagine they would handle it under spa.

You’ll be very happy with the SPA treatment. When you send your knives in, you’ll get an email confirming the receipt of them from Buck. Before you send your knives in, you’ll fill out a form indicating what you want done on each knife.

Trust the experts at Buck, they’ll take care of you. Of the 9 Knives I recently sent in, nearly all were my late dad’s and had significant sentimental value. I trusted the folks at Buck and am very happy with how it all worked out.

I’ve got another batch I’m getting ready to send in in a few weeks.

yep we will contact you. Please put in the form that this is sentimental and you don't want it replaced, but fixed. Also put in there to contact you for any costs before the work is done. Sometimes we just send note with the returned knife with the costs.

Sir..can y'all replace lock bar on a 560 that is worn out? and tighten 560s from side to side and up and down blade play? thank you...

That should be doable, as the rocker is a standard 110. Tightening up the pivot should be easy also.

Awesome! That Buck does this sort of thing is awesome in the first place and that you're even on here answering questions is outstanding. Thanks for all the work!

Download the "warranty repair form" and tell them exactly what you want done...

I sent one knife to Buck for the reblade and SPA treatment, an old 112 I found at a junk shop. It came back looking great, I was very happy.

This is my first post. I am going to be sending in 3 knives for SPA treatment in the next few weeks. All three have sentimental value. One of the knives is a 118 that has scratches in the blade and needs a polishing. My concern in sending it is that I just recently got a sheath for it and am concerned that the sheath will be lost. I do not want to send it in without a sheath as it is razor sharp. Will there be any issue with Buck potentially losing my sheath?

Don't send sheaths. Wrap the blade in news paper or put a piece of cardboard around it.

The knife and sheath stay together during our processing, so should be fine, but things can happen. we prefer the knife only. Make sure you list these as sentimental on the form.

Earlier this year I sent in an old 701 and they did a fantastic job on it. I just got back today an old 3 dot 110 that was very rough. It does not look new in places where there the biggest nicks were but I am sure they did the best they could. They also replaced the spring. I am very happy with the results!!! Great job Buck!!!
