Buck "Spa" Experiences - Good or Bad?

Hope you took pictures of your 315 before sending it in and hope you post before/after pictures here. The 315 is one of my favorite in the 300 series.

I had just bought it on ebay, did a minor cleaning and inspection .
The sold price is not the actual price I paid ... a few dollars less then what seller posted.

From the forum I learned that it's a 1st version and from my inspection well taked care of
read that as lightly used as both the blade and Marlin Spike both snap loudly into place.
The blade has some side to side movement and is off center in the closed position. The Spike
has an excellent point being blunt sharp. A super fine point will rip and tear rope fibers and
that's not a good thing.

I'd had one when I was in the Navy but being married and divorced 4 times it 'dissappeared'
during one of the partings. Missed it and living in the SW desert I've become a tad homesick
for the Oceans and seas I used to roam. Nostalgia bit me on the butt really hard this time.

I'll take and post some pix when it comes back home. Oh, I did un-splice the small stuff from
the shackle before I sent it in. Less confusion for the folks in Idaho. I'll splice it back on when it
gets back here or put a newer one on, making it truly mine.

I like the lanyard, too. Long enough to use the knife without taking it off, so the knife will never go overboard if you drop it. I also like that it was spliced at both ends, not knotted.
 
I think they must really be backed up. My knives were received on 4/16/2018, but I still haven't received an email stating that they are there. The last time I called, 4/30/2018, I was told that they haven't gotten to items received on 4/16/2018 yet. I was surprised, since the first batch I sent in were received and returned within 4 weeks or so, that was back in March of this year, right around the time the remodel was taking place. J J Hubbard , any insights?
 
I think they must be training that new repair tech, haha. My knives arrived on 4/16/2018, so I anticipate a package showing up any day. The odd thing is that I never got an email stating that they've arrived and have been checked into the system. J J Hubbard can you check on this for me? I messaged you my name and zip code. Thanks!

Same boat as sharkattacksw, only mine arrived, according to the PO. on 04/25.
Just curious far,far, far from getting hyper. Waiting is an acquired benefit from
many years of dealing with the Military system. Waiting I can do but sometimes
curiosity does raise it's not so handsome head.

We were processing packages that arrived on 4/25 yesterday, so it shouldn't be long now.

Howdy All;

Received my 315 back from BKI Warranty services. Post mistress is still pickin' up some of my teeth.
Jaw dropped right to the floor ... The Bolsters look like liquid silver, the edge is so sharp it 'accidentally'
pealed 2 layers of skin from a thumb without creating a bloody mess. I'll get some pix this evening,
and find some 3rd. party to host since I can't afford PB. I removed the cord from it before sending it in
and have new on order to splice back on and think I'll get some new hardware to add as well.

In another thread I'd asked about a sheath for it and chose to order one from the custom shop. One of
the Brown distressed sheath for a 112, fits like it was made for it.

Hi All,
I've never used the Spa before (I usually lose my 110's before it's time).
Please don't take what I'm saying as a complaint, I just don't know what to expect is all.
I sent a 110 in and my USPS Tracking shows it was delivered on May 14.
Should I have received an email acknowledging delivery?
Does anyone have an idea of the approximate current turnaround time?
I also have managed to hold onto a 2 dot throughout the years and it needs help with a capital H.
Would you advise waiting to check out the first one to see how it turns out before sending it off or should I send it in ASAP?
Please remember I'm a Spa Virgin - (unless you count that time in the hot tub with the ex.)

I'm very pleased with the results. My 315 is a non Buck build (outsourced),
but they took care of it anyway. With your's being a Buck Creation I'm sure that they
can and will do much more then they were able to do with mine. You should be
very happy with the results.

We are starting today on packages received on the 14th and you will get an e-mail when it is logged into the system. Currently we are on a 4 week turn.
