Buck Two-Fer Tuesday

Several months ago I found these two 501s at the local knife shop. A little research dated them to 1978-1980 (Old English script, burgundy micarta, hidden rocker pin, etc.). The top one was in very good condition and I bought it. The bottom one was pretty rough, with several dings and some blade loss. A few months later it was still unsold, so I bought it for $20 and immediately the next day I shipped it off to Buck for a SPA treatment and blade replacement. Yesterday after two months of waiting it arrived, all cleaned and polished, with new rivets and a new 2025 blade. Makes for a very interesting pair of 501s!
Which one to carry? The original blade is 440C, but the new 420HC blade with the Edge 2000 profile makes a much better slicer. Can't go wrong either way!
(I also asked Buck to return the original blade just for the provenance, and they did so. Interesting to note that it came back completely dull which I can understand because a loose sharp blade in the box certainly could present a hazard, and it no longer has any use for cutting.)

I recently received the 112 and the action is very smooth, opening, closing and unlocking.

Usually it takes a lot of use to get a knife to perform as this one does right out of the box.

Things like that can easily make a knife a favorite.
 
I changed to a different computer and Windows 11. Seems like everything is different. Imgur is not responding as it usually does, so the image is not as it was in the camera. I couldn't get it to rotate...
I'm seriously considering going tech-free!:eek:
