Bucks Lightweight Series Strength

I wasn't trying to start a rumor, I was saying that was my understanding. In the interview I mentioned he saud they want Buck to neet price points and thats why they make some knives in china. "Its hard for us to meet that".

I don't buy gear from Walmart either way though. Except fishing gear on rare occasion.

yeah that has been said. It was for, not so much the American made models but Walmart wanted knives below even those prices to sell to their consumers who I assume want cheaper stuff, as well as the lower prices American made Buck stuff. so Buck had to do Chinese made for walmart and I assume other big dealers who want the lower priced stuff. maybe also to compete with other brands bringing in Chinese made knives as well, for that part of the consumer demand. I'll let Jeff comment if he wants to on the details.....

I didn't think you were trying to start a rumor. I was clarifying the fact that Walmart gets the same knives as everyone else on their shelves. they have some Chinese models. Those models were never US made. They were models to be made overseas for the inexpensive market. Which Walmart does have a few of those knives in their cases.

think he means the slim selects, that are plastic/nylon glass, etc. ill let him clarify though on his own. those do seem to be rock solid for the most part. least mine are. first versions and more recent ones seem to be rock solid.

although I have some more recent made lts that are rock solid. the earlier ones and first version I own have noticeable play. not enough to make it unsafe, but for people who cant stand it....It'd drive them nuts.;)
Yep. Your right.
I reread and caught that. Sorry guys.
But the blade play is dependent upon the integrity of the materials used.

A lot of borderline hyperbole here tho.
Sorta like grocery store tabloids.
