None of the poll options works for me, I carry different knives all the time rotating through several dozen that I like, and they cross all three categories.

budget is good enough, I am carrying a Rat I D2. Compare to others in the same line, it's lighter and edge durability is longer.
The Rat I is lighter than comparable knives? Unless they started drilling out the liners, I don't think that's accurate. It's around 5.1oz for a 3.625" blade. A Steel Will Cutjack (albeit with a blade 1/8" shorter) weighs almost 1.5oz less.

My knives are all users and I've not found a strong correlation between good design and price.

Budget and traditional for me. Buck 110, Opinel, Mora and Leatherman are my primary choices.

Im more middle of the road, but high end for me. The ZT in my pocket is just shy of $300. I plan on picking up a Sebenza this fall to replace it, so that'll bump it up to around 450.

For me, and for production knives, budget is under $100, mid is $100-300, and high end is anything over that. I generally carry low, upper low, and low-mid for edc, and if a particular days' activities call for something more aesthetically pleasing, or specialized in function, I have options outside my normal edc rotation. For handmade or custom knives, I'd probably say budget is under $250, mid is $250-750, and high end would be anything above that. I'm firmly in the mid-range here.

Super budget or custom. Most of my stuff is cheapo USA Schrades or custom fixed. Good stuff in every range if ya look.

I cheated and voted "High End Custom".
. . . well I would if I could. I certainly wouldn't own a custom without using the heck out of it.
On the truthful side I can not imagine life with out the high end super steel alloys with real heat treats and I tend to mod (customize) many of those.
I'm not a fixed blade person (I tried that) and I haven't really come across any custom folder makers that have what I want although Brad Zinker could probably come the closest.
Perhaps one day I will get a Phil Wilson fixed for the blade material and send it to BZ to have it turned into a gentleman's folder. Gee . . . I wonder if I could live long enough to see that come to fruition ? ? ? ?

Now that Cold Steel stopped making knives in CTS-XHP I don't know what I'll do. I just bought another Ti Lite to mod and am having to put up with AUS8 . . . :poop:
I don't really find S35VN to be all THAT though if it were hardened right I might give it a second glance . . . you know me, all those funny alloys with S____V just don't hold the polished edges that I love. XHP and M4 now there you got something.

My EDC are primarily Spyderco limited editions such as PM2 with M4 steel. I have managed to buy them new at retailer prices, not aftermarket prices.

All my knives are users and I rotate between budget and middle of the road with middle of the road folders being my most carried. Those are mainly Spyderco, Benchmade and ZT's.

It depends on the day and occasion. I usually carry a Spyderco PM2 CF in M4. In situations that call for it I will carry a Steel Will Cutjack. On the weekend maybe the Wilson Combat Starbenza.

I’ve had high end knives and while they are neat, I am a user of knives, and just couldn’t use them.

I guess I have all three catagories covered. I always have a SAK Alox Cadet in my left pocket. That covers the budget knife. For my main blade I usually alternate between a $100-200 Spyderco & one of my $450-550 CRKs.

Middle of the road.

I mostly carry customs

Usually fixed blades

The last couple years I’ve been on a Wharnie kick

Mirabile

For folders I’ll admit I’m smitten with the Spyderco Yojimbo is a custom horizontal belt sheath

It’s just a great folder

Compression lock
After market scales
Trainer

I think you may need one more category. Middle of the road doesn't exactly cover something like a Sebenza, while high end customs are a completely different animal. For me, it's whatever jumps into my pocket first when I get up in the morning. Sometimes it's a Bugout, a Chaparral, or the new Para 3 lightweight (which is awesome), some days I can't resist flicking the Giant Mouse Ace Biblio, and other days I want to feel that CRK smoothness. I bet I wouldn't be alone if I said that there are days when I change knives two or three times.
