burlap micarta?

Just placed my order for the one I had reserved.

I expected natural burlap micarta to be more blond and less brown. I suspect I'm going to love it anyway.

It actually looks like old burlap bags. Not the picture that I originally saw, but way better in my opinion.
Brings back memories of dad taking us out of school a couple days in the winter to go pick pecans as a family....

Made sure and signed up for the sms notifications on the chance there are going to be any extras since I was a maybe. I missed my email on the natural canvas for a few hours and ended up missing out on that one.

I sold my bullnose last year , and regretted it. I ordered a Burlap one and I am super stoked!!! Its a great edc pattern thanks CK!

Got my 71 in this morning. Poor lighting at the office. I'll try and grab some shots with natural light over lunch. I like it!

Got mine today too. I'm a little put off by the gloss finish they put on it. Has me on the fence on this one.

Just go over it lightly with some 400 grit sandpaper . . . no more gloss! I used it on this one.

I'm going to save this quote.. Some put off by the unpolished canvas and some put off by the polished burlap. A dealers argument to just ignore everyone :D

LOL...yeah it's about like ordering pizza for a room full of people. No way to please everyone! Just personal preference.

The finish is beautifully done. I think it's just because I had a picture in my mind, and this is quite the opposite. On the flipside, like Black Mamba mentioned, gloss can be removed...easier to do that than to go the other way.

Enjoyed the whole process ordering from you BTW Mike. Very nice setup on the early reserve system.

I like the shine!! "If it don't shine it aint mine" !!:D John

Ya, ya... shiney not shiney... how about some pictures for those of us waiting on the mail :)

I received my Bullnoses, the standard run burlap and the proto burlap that was passed on due to minor imperfections of the burlap. I really like both but do prefer the lighter color and rough unfinished burlapa a bit more. I think the rugged and rough look fits the bullnose. Either way, Mike put out a nice SFO and for a guy who loves the pattern I appreciate his runs!

Just received my Burlap in the mail, Love it! Thank Mike @CK!! I did take some scotchbrite pads to dull the finish. Its grippy but has a satin finish now.

All those disliking the polished look, instead of roughing it up, you can donate yours to me :D:cool:

I like the look of that polished burlap a lot, sort of like wood in fact. When you look at Fiddleback Forge knives and what they come up with in some runs, the results are superb and could transfer to some Traditionals with great result.

Hurrah for this run I say!

Yeah, Mike, I'm happy with the burlap. Kinda wish I hadn't passed on the natural canvas, but oh well.

I really dig that natural canvas and the proto version. [emoji106] Those just fit this pattern so perfectly.
