Bushcraft Knife challenge - Interest?

I think I just heard a collective OH Sh!@t from around the board. That is a cool looking lil set up Iz. The rest better step up or they are going to be 3 points behind right off the get go.

Right now it's just the green river that gets the cylinder packaging. All the other get authentication sheets but no cool box. I might change that in the future making this standard for all of the knives and then making cylinders out of ash bark and cedar bark just special for the Green River. It's kind of "my" knife so I like it to stand out from the rest.:thumbup:

No I bought these. But like I say, once peeling season rolls around I might make some just special for the GR.

I had my entry at the reno show this weekend and just have to finish the sheath and mail it. So a few of you lucky people got a look see early.
 
Well...there was an issue in the heat treat. The blank is going to have to be annealed and re heat treated. I'll never have it finished in time so I guess I am out. When I do get it done and test it out I'll do a pass around if there is any interest in the idea.

Who is doing your HT? Send it to me and I'll get it done. If it gets here soon enough, I can do a handle too.

I'm sorry to hear about that. I was looking forward to seeing your knife in the challenge. Well I guess that's life. I hope you can find some people to pass it around to.
 
I got my handle filed and rough sanded today. I'll have pics of the finished knife in a day or so. I'm slow.
 
Im done. 3/16 stock O-1. 4.5" blade with homemade micarta handles, kydex sheath, and red liners. This is my fourth knife that I have completed. I cant wait to have it reviewed and get some feedback on finish, edge geometry, and other things. I will be mailing it off in the next few days.

Does the knife need a sheath..I noticed everyone is including a sheath with theirs, I can make one..I am just fresh outta leather.
As far as Mist sending his to Fiddleback, I am cool with that.
I ground out my profile, and started the edge (almost done)..I can do the handle in a few minutes (:rolleyes:)..so I should make the mail out??????
I am hanging tough...but I am gonna make it by the skin of my teeth.
I like this one guys..but I have to say...I like all the knives I have seen here..so more than the competition..I like that many creative people are pushing for new ideas, and great designs. I think everyone wins here...more than the makers. JMHO.
 
Oh man.. yep. Going to cost me money. Maybe I should just ignore this thread.

I also vote for MistyW getting some help finishing up his knife:thumbup:
