I love the clean lines on this one Bruce, reminds me of a classy upgraded Kephart....awesome stuff !

I'll be giving my blade to Tony at the New York show next week. Hopefully get to meet a few more members while I'm there.

Rick

Nightman - that is only your 4th knife? Well done!

I also vote for MistyW getting some help finishing up his knife:thumbup:

My blade needs some pants......

I say fourth complete. I had a few more that I had already started on and then put on hold to finish this one.

I am just not that great with putting the final edge on the knife. I have it razer sharp cutting hairs like crazy but its a convex edge and it just feels like the steel behind the edge is too thick. I dont know but Im hoping to get some good constructive crititsism of the knife out of this contest and hopefully make me a better knife maker.

I wanted a good thick edge for strength but it may be too thick, and it looks a little rough but right now its cutting like a charm.

Ive done some rope cutting and whittling and it holds a nice edge and a few strops on the leather and its back to scary sharp.

The knives posted so far are awesome and Im really looking forward to this contest. How long do they expect the knives to be out for?

Having been posting much, but I have been keeping up. Awesome collection of knives. I have to put a second set of scales on mine this week. Do a little testing, and it will be on its way.

Just wanted to add that I also have no issue with Andy helping Mist.

Thats a nice lineup! Wow. And NM, thats amazing that you've only done 4. Wow. My 4th looked like a prison shank compared to that.

Thanks for posting all the photos Pit- great to see these awesome blades!

Well, the damn buffer snatched the knife from my hand and slammed it onto the floor bending the tip. My attenpt to unbend the tip resulted in the tip breaking off. Starting over tomorrow. Luckily, I have 7 of that model heat treated and ready to finish.

Hopefully there were no stitches as a result from that.

W:eek:W!!!!

W:eek:Wee W:eek:W!!!!

Man o man this is looking good!

When will the testing start?
Scott

I believe the soft deadline for receiving knives is Nov 20th. I presume that we will start that week but as knives are already streaming in we may get started sooner. Tony is back on the 14th so maybe next week we'll start.

Scott, PM me with any technical details you'd like included with your knife.

Andy and Misty sorry to hear of your respective misfortunes. Now get back to work. :D

Thanks man...but it's a little more complicated than that, maybe next time.

Well, no matter what you do, get back in the saddle Bro, you have some talent from the looks of that one.

First let me say that I'm glad you weren't hurt, brother.... buffers are dangerous.

Second... Yes, I heard the tips of your knives were brittle... Quietbear told me.:p

I avoid buffers for more than style reasons. Man, those things are the most dangerous toys in the shop!

Mist hate to hear that man was looking forward to seeing yours in action. Might have made you put down that bushfinger for a day or two;). Andy that sucks but I know if anyone can rebound it is you. Nightman for a fourth knife all I can say is WOW! Man you gots the talent. This is shaping up to be one heck of a comp. Feel almost sorry for Tony and the boys thier arms are going to be rubber but then they get to play with so many new knives one cant feel to badly for them. :)

Thanks for the comments fellas. The knives in this are sweet!! I cant wait to monitor the progress of this thing. I am sending my knife out tomorow so it should arrive on Monday or Tuesday I hope. I will be sending an Email of the details.

I was going to make a leather sheath but I think this knife will be going with me to Afghanistan soon so I made a kydex sheath that I can easily lash to my vest. :)
