List updated!

I do plan on doing the thumbramp.

You can pay at any time...of course, paying ahead of time guarantees quickest delivery (I ship as soon as it's done vs. after I finish, I let you know, wait for payment to arrive, etc)

Even though it seems everyone has jumped on the 1/4" thick bandwagon....the numbers are still quite evenly varied.

3/16" thickness
- Natural = 39
- Green = 29

1/4" thickness
- Natural = 22
- Green = 27

(I didn't count those not specified...they will be made from whatever's left over. )

dan-- i have a fairly small hand (M), so i figured i would just stick with the standard 3/16.... what do you recommend... unless the 1/4 is really shaped and contoured, that it would work for me....:)

either way, i'm fine with the 1/4 or the 3/16...

thanks for putting this together....:thumbup: looking forward to checking this knife out....

cheers.. mike

well...I have large hands and both feel good to me...*shrug*

(did you see the prototype pics? the 1/4" one is more contoured)

Someone said earlier that if it ends up too big, you can always take it down in size yourself....so, I guess it follows that if it's too small...can't really make it bigger.

Either way is fine with me. I like them both.

Hey Dan. I get paid Thurs and plan on sending a money order then. Is that going to put me behind or are we still talking some time?

Just a quick mention of the thickness cause Mike said what he said.

Just feeling it in your hand a thicker or thinner scale may feel "better"

The reason for the thicker scales and leaving them fairly wide and rounded at the spine is for doing Bushcraft stuff like whittling thru large limbs and carving stuff. The wide handle at the spine distributes the backward pressure more evenly into your palm.

The best way to understand it to go out and find a say 2" thick limb and whittle completely thru it with a thin handled knife and a thick handled knife. I'll guarantee most folks can tell the difference

I don't really have any experience with this but they also say in Bushcraft stuff that a handle heavy gives you more control in carving. I don't have any handle light bushcraft knives so I don't know if this is true.

But if I wasn't planning on doing a lot of extensive carving, whittling or bushcrafty type stuff, just more camp stuff and maybe hunting stuff I'd go with the lighter handle. Why carry extra weight? If I planned to do a lot of cutting and carving of wood, building shelters or other stuff I'd go with the thick.

A Fallknivenn F1 is 5/8 across so that would be near what the 1/4 would be with a 1/8" spine. So if you have a Fallkniven and it's too fat I'd go with the thinner handle.

I'll take the 1/4 slabs on mine, and I'll paypal you later tonight!
No sheath, btw.
Thanks, Dan!

Hi Dan, I want to be sure that I get credit for my payment and know how to pay my shipping and Paypal offset balances due. See my previous post and your reply in this thread:
