Bushcraft STYLE Knife Passaround

@ Spooky, When your through Hollowdweller is next. I'm pretty sure you have his addy allready, but if you need it let me know.

Thanks for the great review, Brendan! I'm glad to hear that the small one is holding its own. I really think the thin convex grind of the larger one is tougher, but it seems the flat-ground one's no wuss, either:thumbup: I was worried I'd taken it too thin:D

Oh yeah, I am finally working on some smaller knives. I'd wanted to wait until I was ready to work with some stainless, but I've got some thin 1095 that I think is going to perform pretty well:D

Nice review, try as i Might , I couldn't find a thing about them that I didn't like, except that there are not mine.:D

Alrighty, I got a chance to play with these a bit today! Snapped a few pics too.

The longer of the two blades is just about exactly like the WD I already have. The handle feels really good in a middle grip, but is a little longer than I'd prefer. The only reason it's a problem is it draws my hand away a bit from the edge. On the other hand, the smaller amigo in the natural micarta is quite a comfy little bugger! Very light and nimble in hand (though they both are).

They both have some really fantastic and much appreciated curves, Walt does a great job with that aspect of his blades. My preference is usually towards something with almost an inverse shape, more thick at the top and slightly smaller at the bottom. Walt makes these work pretty well however, and my preferred hammer-grip (thumb down) is quite comfy.

Both blades came veeeery, very sharp. I was quite impressed. They made good slicers indeed, and though not quite as favored as my scandis, they worked well on wood. Either of these are easily recommendable as custom bushcrafters for beginners and 'vets' alike. Comfortable, very sharp, curvy, and well balanced. On top of it all, the leather is quite handsome. Clean lines and good stitching.

Thanks for letting me play with them! I'll get these out to Hollowdweller asap.

Thanks for the great review! I figured that you would like the smaller one:thumbup:

I have them. To me they are similar to the Fallkniven F1.

I like the edge on the F1 better but the handle on these knives better.

I like the shorter one better.

Give me a little time. I need to go buy a new camer so I can do a full review.

Sorry for the delay in this passaround. I want to see Hollow Dweller's pics and review so I told him to hold on the knives till he gets the camera issue settled.

I will be away from the 19th to the 30th, so I will send the next few guys the addresses they will be shipping to.

If by any chance you loose the addresses, contact the person after you on the list on the 1st page.

Thanks,

Tony

OK, I promise to do alot of work down in Margarita Island.

I'll start with my tan:cool:

:p:D

found my lost camera got the battery going. Should get the pics up this week but going on a backpacking trip this weekend may take them with me if ok??

OK we brought the longer one but hardly ever used it.

The shorter one was really nice for camp chores. Here's my pal Paul using it to de shell an egg:
