Bushcrafting cargo rigs

I really dig the concept of a chest rig - everything right in front of you, within easy reach.
The only problem that I see is that it can be a little harder to haul it around then a backpack or butt pack in dense foliage and the weight. If it's light no problem, but if you have it really crammed with stuff it will be tougher to carry then something on your back. Anatomically speaking our spines handle weight better if we put the extra weight to our backs.

I'm a simple soul. I love a webbing belt and alice straps and assorted pouches and buttpacks. Sometimes, things don't have to be reinvented.

++ on that, it's what I have right now with a condor butt pack that works out great.....

This IS Nice, not much commandos look too.

Sorry, no pics yet....

My lightweight kit consists of a simple shoulder bag, mostly.... and a bedroll on a tumpline for longer stints.

My set-up just went through a major change... I'll post soon.

i want that kifaru i wish i was had know about it previously god that looks like a great set up for edc and or camping. man i guess i will have to wait for them to come out now besides pre order

It's up on their site now, which means you can order it. Pretty much everything from Kifaru is "pre-order" because they don't usually stock many packs. They make them when you order them, because there are some custom features available.

bushman,
Love that sh!t magnet patch! where did u get it? :D

Oh, thanks for that friggin MilSpec Monkey site. Now I've got about $200 in patches I have to get. . .

Really need the "That Guy" patch. . .

Condor has a couple of molle chest rigs for pretty reasonable costs.

I have a bunch of different sized molle pouches, which I am sure many of us do. I think I will get one of these and mess around with it and see what I can come up with. Pack, chest rig, thigh rig like in picture lots of configurations for different trips. Thanks for the inspiration Bushman ;)

I'm waiting for milspec monkey to do a Mandalorian patch, I got a couple from some pop culture online store but they're bright green and red and blue, something subdued would be sick

I really should take this weekend and finish modding my Silverthorne I've had for months and haven't used yet. Gernade pouches=pointless, yet taking them off and sewing up some old scrapped MOLLE stripping on there. Yeah, maybe I'll do that since Bushman makes me jealous.

teehee.......:D

hey IceBear, you are fairly close by to my location, yes? i may have a few pouches for your rig....lemme know what your after!

Got the pouches, it's just the work of very neatly cutting off the nade pouches, then sewing by hand through one layer of regular cordura and then a second piece thats rubberize (i have no idea where i even got it, it's like 12X5 in coyote) it flew into my junk box sometime. It'll be nice when I finish it up, got nothing better to do this weekend, gotta find some upholstery thread though, yeah I over do it a bit with the sewing. I'll see what I can come up with this weekend, ill throw some progress pics up as I go (hopefully).
