Bushfinger, Initial Impressions

Bumping this one back up to say this is one of the most beautiful blades I have ever seen. Absolutely stunning. I think my wallet may be in trouble.

I feel the same way bro...and it is one heck of a knife. You should see one in person and use it, it's reeeeally sweet.

I'd love to see the pics in your review, but it says you've exceeded the bandwidth for photobucket.

Sorry about that, fixed the first one, I'll see what I can do about the second one....

**Edit**

The pics in the second one are still doing fine.

Thanks for the links mistwalker. I had been looking at them already. That is what got me drooling over this knife. I emailed Andy yesterday about one. I had sent an email through his web site but he didn't get it but I followed up with one from here so we'll see.

I have never bought a custom before. I guess one never jumped out at me like this one. Sweet blade!!

Thanks man, glad you enjoyed the posts. I've bought a few, but still never had one jump out at me quite like this one. This was a great first Fiddleback :D

Andy is making batches but not taking orders right now...he's trying to get caught up. He posts in-progress pics of batches and says which ones are up for grabs so the best option is to watch for those threads and shout out in the thread when you see what you want. It's a first-come-first-serve thing.
He said he is going to be making some more Bushfingers soon.

Thanks mistwalker that's what he told me yesterday. I can't wait to grab one of these beauties. I was fixing to pull the trigger on one of the BHK maple handled Bushcrafter, then, I saw your knife. Sure glad I waited. :D

Not knocking BHK as I like a few of their designs, but I'd take the Bushfinger over any of them I have seen and handled yet. It is a grail knife for me...one I didn't even realize I was searching for until I found it. If I go to the woods it goes, if I go in the yard (more woods :) ) it goes, if I go to the bathro...well you get the idea. The only time I leave it behind is when I head into certain urbanized environments where it might have to be ditched or could even get taken. Then I usually take another small knife that's a lot easier to replace.

Trying to picture you cutting the toilet paper off the roll. :)

I hear you. Until recently I didn't even own any fixed blades. Always carried folders. Then I got bit by the Khukuri bug, followed by the machete bug, followed by the Mora bug..you see what I mean.

I am really looking forward to this one though.

I've got two bars (8 bushfingers) marked out downstairs. They'll be probably in October if I'm lucky.

Oh man, I am looking forward to seeing pics of multiple bushfingers and the varied ways that you do them.

The Bushfinger and a short 'Chette are at the top of my list.

2Door

Mine too, every time I do a gear check before heading out to the woods :)

What kind of handles are you going to put on these. Like Mistwalkers or will they all be different? Thanks Doug,

Haven't decided. One feautre I've been under utilizing on the new website is the shopping cart. I paid a lot of $ to have it, and its just there to grow into basically. One way I can do that would be to make a small batch of a model all the same and offer them for sale there.

Haven't decided. If I go the usual route, they'll all be different. (I can't imagine none having gorgeous wood handles.)

After this picture of a Hiking Buddy (which still makes my heart go all pitter patter lol) next to mine I can not imagine that either :)
