Busse Combat Is Proud To Introduce The Forsaken Kensei (FORK). . . . It Is Coming, Friday, December 19, 2025, At 1:00 PM Eastern.

This revamped version of the iconic Busse Combat American Kensei blends old-world tradition with a modern tactical design. The generous 2-hand grip allows for plenty of swinging power, while still being light and fast enough to be wielded with one hand. The FORK features a generous front guard that prevents slipping forward onto the blade and a rear talon skull crusher that allows for devastating back-blows, and extra control for aggressive strikes. This blade quickly feels like an extension of your body. We added a fuller to the blade to both stiffen and lighten the blade for incredible strength and balance. We have also rounded the entire outer perimeter of the sword to increase lateral strength as well as give it an elegant, refined look.

With a blade that comes in at just over 16 inches, the FORK offers excellent reach while still being short enough to fit comfortably on the side of a rucksack, much like the original American Kensei blades that saw action in Iraq back in the Desert Storm days.

We will also be offering a Serial Numbered Limited Edition featuring a Competition finished blade, Custom Shop logo and our fan favorite, Hand-Shaped Tiger Hide Canvas Micarta handles.

HOG Only Special Edition:

As an added bonus, we are extending a special offer for inducted HOGs only!

This HOG Only Special Edition features a sterile, sage-coated blade and Hand-Shaped Tiger Hide Canvas Micarta and is ONLY available to Inducted HOGS who purchase a Limited Edition Forsaken Kensei.

The HOG Only Special Edition, if available to all, would cost the base price of a coated version ($897) plus the additional cost of the tiger hide handle ($140.00) for a total of $1037.

Your HOG Only Special Edition price is just $737!!!. . . . You save $300! ! !

The ONLY way to get this Inducted Hog Only Special Edition is by purchasing the Limited Edition, and is not available any other way!

This STERILE Hog Only model features Sage Coating and Hand Shaped Tiger Hide Handles, which match the handles on your Limited Edition Forsaken Kensei.

Or, you can take a seat on the sidelines with an umbrella to protect yourself from the mud, the blood, and the beer!

Let's Drink!

For what it’s worth, I did a Deep Research on Gemini Pro asking about Micarta vs G-10:

8.1 The Verdict: Canvas Micarta

Canvas Micarta is the superior handle material for this specific application. This conclusion is driven by three decisive factors:

1. Optimized Rotational Inertia: The.210-inch blade is a lightweight platform. Installing heavy G10 scales creates a disproportionate counterweight, shifting the Center of Gravity too far rearward. This results in a "dead" feel where the blade lacks the rotational momentum to chop effectively. Micarta, being lighter (~1.4 g/cm³ vs 1.8 g/cm³), preserves the forward balance point necessary for the Kensei’s blade geometry to function as a powerful cutting tool.

2. Ergonomic Safety and Security: The operational velocity of a 26-inch sword generates significant centrifugal force. Micarta’s hygroscopic nature means its grip security improves with sweat and moisture, whereas G10’s hydrophobic surface becomes slippery. For a heavy swinging tool, Micarta offers a higher margin of safety and control without requiring gloves.

3. Harmonic Damping: The full-tang construction of the Kensei transmits shock directly to the user. Micarta’s fibrous structure acts as a natural damper, reducing the high-frequency vibrations generated by impacting hard targets with a relatively thin blade. G10, being rigid and glass-filled, transmits this energy, leading to faster user fatigue.

8.2 The Exception: When to Choose G10

G10 should only be selected if the user prioritizes:

• Static Aesthetics: Unchanging color and finish for a display piece.

• Extreme Chemical Resistance: Usage in environments with corrosive solvents.

• Specific Balance Preference: A deliberate desire for a "neutral" or "hilt-heavy" balance point for pure thrusting or light-target martial arts, accepting the loss of chopping efficiency.

I know a lot of people want a longer blade, but I'm hoping for a 12" bladed O Tanto 🤤

The Forsaken Kensei will be sweet, we need a whole set😱

🤘🍺🤘

These are the things that sold me…

2-hand grip allows for plenty of swinging power, while still being light and fast enough to be wielded with one hand.
A+

The generous front guard…
I expected nothing less

Fuller to both stiffen and lighten the blade for incredible strength and balance.
A+

Rounded the entire outer perimeter of the sword to increase lateral strength as well as give it an elegant, refined look.
Almost “meltdown” = somewhere in the “A” range

Blade at just over 16 inches offers excellent reach while still being short enough to fit comfortably on the side of a rucksack,
A++ … love the versatility of this length

Now the toughest part… How many handles?
🤔
