Busse Combat Is Proud To Introduce The Forsaken Kensei (FORK). . . . . It Is Coming, Friday, December 19, 2025, At 1:00 PM Eastern.

Still undecided on this one
I had the total opposite opinion. There have been many cool swords as of recently. All the double edged Viking swords are cool from a collectible standpoint. But not very practical as a user. The Tgs19 is really cool also, but it’s definitely heavier and something I don’t think I’d want to carry around in the woods. This seems like a love child of my two favorites, the ak47 and ruck. It’s seems like it will be lighter and easier to use for clearing brush, but could still chop and split. I’m hoping choking up on the handle, it will be nimble, while holding low, will deliver power. Short / light enough to carry and even self defense in close quarters. Hoping my opinion is correct based on specs alone.

As much as I like the aesthetics of rounded edges, why are we seeing so many designs on striking weapons that have the extended/exposed, rounded tang. I don't know how many of you have held a pry bar or similar piece of steel and whacked the end against something firm but the hand shock is miserable. For edged weapons designed for chopping or swords for "combat" the extended tang is anathema to function driving form. I am all for full tang for strength but please make them tang flush with the scales for shock absorption on designs made for fighting/chopping, etc.
I agree. It’s probably a cost cutting thing. The cnc does most of the work. Round the edges and slap some handles on. It probably saves a lot of time and belts not having to hand fit each set of handles. Question for you nerds. If I grinded mine to be flush, would it void the warranty?

You dont think they could CNC them flat? Its not a cost cutting measure its a design element a long with the rounded talon holes and pommel, very similar to a nuclear meltdown treatment. Certain Busse knives have this, like the team gemini.

I disagree. To have a perfect flush / seamless fit, I would bet they would need to be hand ground one by one. I am aware of the meltdown and certain models. I like it on the spine, I just don’t like the feature on the handles and don’t see any benefit from it. It’s uncomfortable and not good for shock when using to chop.

They used to match the handles to each individual knife. If you ever took your handles off, you would see that there was a number or letters and numbers under your handles and it matched up with some letters and numbers on the knife. But I'm guessing that this new way, they can fit any handle on any knife, without having to grind them with the handles on. Possibly getting some material in between the joint between the handles and the tang, requiring the handles to be removed again and cleaned up. I can guess that it is probably a pain, if they are doing a lot of them.
I wish they would use hardware so they were removable, and then sell extra handles on the side. That would be great.
With coated models, they probably pre-fit the handles before hand. And then they were marked. But if they changed handles because someone changed an order or canceled. They would have to re-grind a new set of handles and then recoat the knife is my guess.

🤔..
I tried chopping & splitting wood with an INFI AK47 once...
Heavy vibrations right to the hands, & low results on the wood (natural dried oak tree wood). Think "bounce"; the weight is just not there on the blade.
Not great for that task. FBMLE shined here when I switched to it, as it should.
Ruck is better in brush as it's shorter & easier to control & swing, but I doubt its wood chopping abilities too after the AK47 taught me why swords are swords & choppers are choppers lol.

I love my Busse's, but skipped the TG19, the Viking, & I'm skipping this hybrid also. As far as wood chopping & brush clearing goes, a B11 (& many other Busse & 'Kin) will kick the sh!t out of both the AK & the Ruck in the woods, & still function well defensively.
I'm not saying don't get one, just speaking on past experiences with swords & wood. 🙂

I have an AK47 and TNT15 the FORK is between them in length. Still undecided and I’m sure last call is coming soon.

Totally, I had a fbmle also and it was a chopping machine. I found the ak47 to be decent at small tasks and splitting dry hardwood. I had buddies up at the cabin and we would find nice 8” round dried logs and see who could spit them with the least amount of swings. It worked well, but you’re right, not so much of a chopper on horizontal cuts. Fun factor was off the charts. I’m probably just chasing nostalgia now, but I guess that’s what it’s all about. Whatever makes you happy.
