Busse Combat Is Proud To Introduce The Forsaken Kensei (FORK). . . . . It Is Coming, Friday, December 19, 2025, At 1:00 PM Eastern.

As much as I like the aesthetics of rounded edges, why are we seeing so many designs on striking weapons that have the extended/exposed, rounded tang. I don't know how many of you have held a pry bar or similar piece of steel and whacked the end against something firm but the hand shock is miserable. For edged weapons designed for chopping or swords for "combat" the extended tang is anathema to function driving form. I am all for full tang for strength but please make them tang flush with the scales for shock absorption on designs made for fighting/chopping, etc.

Meh, doesn’t bother me. If you don’t need to use it, don’t use it. It’s kinda like the claw on a hammer. I’ll go on pounding nails and never needing to pull one. Til I do, then it’s useful.

Don’t ever need to use a “skull crusher”? Don’t use it. But if you ever do need to use it, it might come in handy and in a damn hurry!

I am referring to the edge of the tang extended past the edge of the handle scales, not extended beyond the end of the handle. I am all for skull crushers, they serve a purpose and if you ever need it it is functional. The raised tang around the handle extending past the scales may look good but only serves to transfer shock to my hands.

Yeah I don’t dig that either. Back in the day if you ended up with one like that you could send it in to have it ground flush with the scales. Now it seems to be a “feature” on some knives. 🤷‍♂️

I gotta say, I'm not a fan of the rounded tang on the TG-19 and would much prefer the tang on the ForK be flush with the scales.

Also, a longer blade for a two handed grip design.

Oh the spoils of working at Busse. I got to wield this bad boy as I have on every sword to come from the shop.

All the swords are incredible...Boss Hog knows his stuff. This one has something special when making swings, thrusts and jabs...it feels as if it is a natural extension of my arm. Control is so instinctive. It may sound funny but I find myself needing to hunt and dominate obstacles in my way or ..... not!!!

You can walk away with a one word description..."Amazing". This tops Good Kentucky Bourbon which is blasphemy for me to say. LOL. I know what I'm asking Santa to bring!!!

woo hoo.

I imagine I will be busy making a few sheaths for this one. :)
