My fellow satin loving brother! I was starting to feel like I was the only one since most pics I ever see is stonewashed finish on everything if the blades aren't coated.
I feel you on the natural micarta as it's a bit strange how it seems to vary all over the map in coloration even amongst the same brand like your image shows..... unless your AFBM and TGULB are oiled and/or buffed whereas the SJTAC 7s are not? Maybe that's the reason they look different?
Stonewash is a phenomenal finish, but I've been wanting tan and satin forever. I know it gets to looking scratchy after a while, but I don't mind it. It used to be that the only satin knives were 0.30" thick or more and I just don't want to carry that.
The handles in my pics aren't oiled except from my hands from picking them up. I haven't gotten out to use them much lately.
Historically, tan canvas used to be more orange/red than anything. I was thrilled to receive my first TGULB and have the new tan canvas be more pure tan and darken into brown - and then to have them release the AFBM and SJT7 soon after. The SJT7 is obviously from a different batch of micarta, but at least they aren't orange/red. I'm happy as hell with these knives and 0.21" thickness is perfect for them IMO.
If they re-release the AK47 or Ruck in satin and tan canvas I'd be in trouble - or a 0.21" MOAB...damn.
