Busse for actual combat

Can you tell us more about this? or provide a link?
Hey Bud, don't have any links, but do a search on James Keating, and his "Riddle of Steel". Trite and to the point... take a paper clip, make it like a fish hook, tie a THREAD to it ,then hang it from ceiling etc. Take notebook or thinner paper hook it to the paper and "Fight It". start with fast cuts on the corners. It'll (paper) move around a bit depending on currents. you can stab as well. Object is to not 'tear' the paper done. Speed. DO NOT HAVE ANYONE around. Use a lanyard of sorts. You can do the same with a ping pong ball. Although you are not really trying to cut or piece it. Works wonders on hand/eye co-ord. I primarily use the later for finger jabs. hang it were you encounter it at least 1000 times a day.....

3 tours; 1 in Afghanistan 2 in Iraq with a beat up old Satin Jack. Excellent light tuff knife. Never needed to fight with it. That's why I carried a rifle. Looking like a 4th tour is in my cards and I have been carring a new Badger attack on my gear, pretty much my ideal combat knife anymore, not to mention if I lost my satin jack it would break my heart.

Now if I had to pick just one to 'fight' with I would take my BIBB. Just feels awesome in the hand. But all the toys in the world won't do sh!t for you if you idon't train with what you carry.

my .02

Outstanding. Pretty much sums it up.

Thanks

LVC, assuming that the shop has NOT started on your knife yet, why not call Garth and clarify/modify your request?

I'm sure I could. but I might like it with a straight edge :) I can always send it back and try to get them to modify it into a recurve (paying for the service of course).

I know the 3rd gen variation will be recurved, so I'll get at least one that has that.

it will be a surprise :D
