I'm not sure you hear that in this subforum. Maybe in General? Granted, I haven't posted here a lot lately, but most of the crowd I knew here were/are knife guys, period. Meaning they appreciate a good knife no matter the maker.
 
flyers games and sports in general are overpriced and i dont go. two wrongs dont make a right anyway. if jerry cared about us knifelovers and grunts he would try to give us the best product at the best price. he claims to have the best product hypes it up than charges the most u would be willing to spend for his product. i like busses as much as u guys but 650 for the new ganzaa hogfish 9inch is pure sleezy businessman stuff. he knows youll pay top dollar to be able to say ive got the best and your knife is crap and jeleous. btw all the money spent for the small amount of extra performance is pointless cause even in end of the world scenerio whos gona put ther busse through a handrail with a sledge? the best part is the busse broke but the cold steel machete made it all the way through the test, but lets ignore the same hard use test you guys point too and say busse won
 
BSB, you might find more agreement here than you expect. All the INFI I own currently has been gifted to me, but I have owned plenty. I've also owned Cold Steel and most other cheap brands that get sneers among the knife elite. I don't get that from the folks in here though. While I am not the biggest fan of marketing strategies, I wouldn't piss in the Bosses yard about it. His names on the door and he can do it as he pleases. I certainly don't want anybody telling me I'm not worth my wage. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
BTW, many troops I know carry expensive cutlery. My son being one of them, carrying and using a BATAC in Afghanistan. Many of those I know who carry INFI have been gifted by the good HOGs on this forum. Expensive? Yes! Worth it? Only if you are willing. If not, then move on to what you do like or can afford.

First, I find it difficult to take this post seriously when it uses text-speak and such poor grammar/capitalization. Second, it just sounds like sour grapes. No one is making BSB buy a Busse.
BSB, enjoy what you can afford. Jerry runs a business and is going to charge what he can get for his knives. You can't begrudge the man for making a good product and marketing it effectively.
Floating terms like "sleezy" is not going to win you any friends here. Or get you a Busse discount.

not all Busse knives cost $650 - and not many soldiers want knives that long/heavy on their battle rattle.
In the past year there have been SEVERAL INFI offerings under $350 and a few under $200. Best of all, these pieces were in the size range best suited to modern combat operations -- i.e. 3"-6" blades.
I for one have never said a blade was worthless because it's not INFI. I've said blades were useless because they had poor quality control and/or heat treat, but that has nothing to do with the type of steel.
And for the record - where did you find a new Junglas for $130? Is that a "blade only/no sheath price? either way, it's a great chopper, and that's a killer price for one.

Again -- set your sights lower. there is a LOT of INFI available well under the price of the Limited Edition Ganzaa knife recently released.

i love when people get upset about the way i type on here its funny u it offends u so much. but if someone charges you top dollar and sets profits that high than you know ther a sleezy businessman and not a passionate maker who wants make and supply the best possible product. he makes a product that we all want than knowing that he gets every dollar he can out of your wallet. we all deserve and need a massive discount.

as to the rest, how old are you that you haven't ever encountered the need for a business to make a profit?
you telling me you don't believe the car dealerships aren't trying to make as much as possible off every vehicle they sell?
or that custom makers shouldn't charge $250 for a knife that only cost them $7-10 in steel and handle material? (completely ignoring production costs, consumable materials, insurance, utility costs, time spent, etc...)
and how high do you think the profit margin is on these knives?
it's not a 1 man shop: there are employees, taxes, utilities, maintenance, insurance, etc...

Funny, I just sold 5 Battle Mistresses to 1 guy in the military that plans to distribute them to his combat buddies. Said he had 2 but they blew up in his humvee.
Try opening your mind a bit. Before I got more involved with cutlery, I solely delivered pizzas (still do PT) and was able to own and use several busses blades. Its called $ management. Dont expect good things to be handed to you. If that concept expires anytime soon I demand a BMW 7 series for the price of a Hyundai.

Bully- Do yourself a favor... save up and get yourself a Busse knife. You will have a classic in your hands and will be akin to a knife by Dozier, Loveless, Hartsfield, to name a few.

ha if guys cant admit they are overpriced,overhyped and that jerry is in only interested in your making money than be blinded by ur ego idont care. but if u wanna know y busse fanboys get bashed and not others its cause you trash a others blades just cause yours was expensive and has unwarrented nuclear indestructable hype surrounding it.u can deny doing it all u want but fanboys need to stop with this infi or nothing attitude its a totaly average blade steel with a real good heat treat its not a light sabre and it not 5 times better than a steel like 5160 or 5 times more expensive to create yet he charges 5 times more for it. that means overpriced and overhyped and that means sleazy businessman no matter how many more posts yuo have than me or my grammer

while ther are exceptions, rich military guy wit 6 battle mistress. most and all the people i know that have been or are in combat are dirt poor kids like myself who arent worthy of the bossmans super expensive steel that is marketed to us

Definitely an interesting opinion! Speaking for self I can easily break it down for you, my wallet my business. Now if you're upset about what's going in yours then I don't know what to tell you hoss. And on a side note, if you're upset at what I pay for INFI then you would really lose your mind at how much my light saber cost. :D
 
Jax: with what I know about Jerry Busse from personal experience, I think that repeated references to him as "sleazy" should not be tolerated.
