Busse v Randall's Adventure & Training ESEE

And as far as INFI goes, I don't care what the composition is. It's edge holding ability is greatly exaggerated on this site by fan boys.

:) And you know that how?

Sorry if I missed it but Im also interested how you know? Personally? Pardon me for ASSuming, but judging by the way you write, Im gonna say nay.

Oh and forgot to answer the OP. I own a what I thought was a becker but it says esee on the tang but I dont think that counts. Its a great knife for the price. Never owned a true ESEE, have handled a few, dont really care for the handles but they appear to be great users for the price. Unfortunately for me and my wallet, busse found me first and now I have no reason to look elsewhere :D

Dude. Go back and read the replies. First you told me I had not sharpened the blade,
No, you told me, and your quote is above.

After you stated that I had not sharpened, my very next reply states that I had sharpened on the EP.
And that is exactly what I said in my last post. You said you sharpened, in a different post. I am not disputing that. Point is, apparently you sharpened it once. And that's it.

It's in the thread man, there is no disputing it.
What is in this thread is your statement that INFI is 52100(may or may not), even though the composition is readily available, but you don't care(according to your own words), you'd rather post hearsay and speculation from unknown and unverifiable source. I really doubt anyone from Busse told you that. In other words, you are clearly not interested in unbiased info.

personnaly i like esee-because i own some, i dont have any experience in busse, mostly cuz of price-i mean wow they are pricy, but if i could choose knives to have between the two i would definitely go with busse but probably wont go further than swamp rat"due to cost", but im very pleased with esee great company and knives

Do they break windows, cut seatbelts, help bend steering wheels, kill snakes, pitbulls, cut out car seats/roof liners (etc), poke around in burned leftover homes (and whatever is burned up inside) sample white powdery substances for field testing, kill zombies...... And assuredly work everytime without fail?

That's the knife I want. If the shtf and I need my knife (for whatever reason), it MUST not fail me, my life may depend on it.

My RMD is in the mail coming my way and I will be using it for the above.

That being said, the ESEE or becker probably does all of the above just as well and I may pick one up (I like the look of the bk2 fo sho). But never owning any of them and needing a knife for the above criteria, add in what available information is on the Internet (articles, first hand report's, youtube video) I had to choose and that's what it comes down too. Choice.

Peace

I think they are both very good knife companies . I own both and I must say that my Busse Basic 6 is the best balanced , most comfortable ( Resiprene C handle) knife I've even owned and maybe ever held even . That said , the Busse is alot more money than the ESEE knife for knife . But Busse kin Scrap Yard and Swamp Rat can be had for the same prices as ESEE knives on a kine for knife basis . Here are some examples .

ESEE 4 has an average price that is about $15 more that the Scrap Yard Sykco 511 .
O.A Length: 9.0"
O.A. Blade Length: 4.5"
Maximum thickness: 3/16"
Blade Width: 1.25"
1095 Steel - 57 Rc.

Sykco 511
Overall Length: 10.0"
Blade Length: 5.5"
Blade width: 1 3/8
Thickness: Approx: 3/16"
Steel: SR-101 / 58-60 Rc

ESEE 6 with an average cost the same as the Scrap Yard Sykco 711
Overall length: 11.75"
Blade length (end of handle to tip of blade): 6.5"
Blade Width: 1.56"
Drop point blade style, full flat grind
Maximum thickness: .188"
1095 Carbon Steel, 57 Rc.

Sykco 711
Overall Length: 12.5"
Blade Length: 7 3/8"
Blade Width: 1-3/4"
Grind: Ultra Convex Saber Grind
Thickness: Approx: .220"
Steel: SR-101 / 58-60 Rc

This may shed a little light and show that Busse kin knives are not out of reach . Both companies offer no hassle lifetime warranty on all their knives , so you can't go wrong with either one .
