LOL on the modem killer. I don't quite understand why the CG grade BATAC keeps getting mentioned though, all the blades discussed were .25" thick. And isn't the LE a zero grind convex?

i haven't had mine for a while, but i think it was a standard v grind.

it was full height flat though.
 
On the CG, I was just pointing out that it's a nicer all-around blade for me, and because of the thickness difference, it's a little better slicer IMO.

MORIMOTOM is right. Both the CG and LE had V-grinds. Those came out before Busse started doing all the convexing on these latest knives.
 
the only point id like to point out is i don't and have never jacked **f to a busse!:D

that is one point i didn't miss!:D

on a serious note, i agree with bearcut. all are good knives that will not fail us. sorry if i seemed too sensitive.

now about gettin some saks!:eek:
 
I have a Fehrman First Strike from the original run, had it since '02 or '03, its proven itself many times over. I love that knife. :) I rank it right up there with similar sized Busse's.

I'm not a fan of the redesigned profile on the Fehrman, the drop point was drop dead sexy.
 
Theo... I'm getting a Horton. When the blade comes in, maybe we can test it together. :)

No, I've seen the age of the thread, was just a little annoyed by the prejudice. I was looking for a discussion on edge rolling and chipping in Busses and Fehrmans.
 
I bought a used Horton.
I liked it, but not as much as the person who stole it from me.

Lost two good folders last year also.

Fehrman sold the tool and die company so, no more knives from them. Glad I got several when I did.

Bad year for me and knives.

Fallkniven MB next! That should cheer me up.
