Busses and Glocks

Another enjoyable HK (HK45):

lunde, please dont tell me you have a carry permit in Ca. I will die of envy.

I've never shot well with Glocks. Dont know why.

"My hat's off to a well working 1911, but other than that, if it's auto, it's just a rebuilt Glock in a different name."
I think a lot of designers at Baretta or Sig or HK or CZ or Browning-FN might disagree...

I do enjoy my wheel guns, too. This is my favorite (S&W 686P 2.5" with Nill grips):

Jerry likes when I post photos of this one (S&W 500 7.5" Performance Center with Nill grips):

How about 1911s? My favorite is the Ed Brown Special Forces Commander w/Bobtail. Mine has a bare slide and slim AlumaGrips.

Mang, I wish I was at the range today instead of stuck in the office.

Glocks are the coolest. I bought a Sig P220, and it's very nice, but for some reason, I keep gravitating towards my G19. I like having all of those fast, lil' bullets- and I like the polymer frame.

This is why I don't post pics very often. I suck at photography.

Lunde,
I shot an HK many years ago and don't remember how it felt. Do you find that HKs are comparatively a "longer" in the trigger pull, say versus your typical 1911?

In terms of a short trigger stroke, combined with a short and crisp reset, nothing beats a well-tuned 1911. With that said, I guess it also depends on which HK you're talking about. HK P7s have crisp triggers, but the reset is anything but short.

Looks like pistols are more popular than Busses!!
What pistol is Jerry's fav?
Jerry??

I don't recall which HK I fired, although I know that it was not the P7M8 or P7M13. The long reset may be why I never bought one. Still, they are outstanding handguns nonetheless. Thanks for the info.

I'm in the "carry what works for YOU" school. My EDC:

And my favorite old standby:

I think back to what my shooting coach taught me: whatever you carry, be good with it!! :D

Just my favorite 1911 and Busse combo....SA TRP Operator

Glocks not really for me, but there is something for everyone!

Glock, like Busse, work. Neither of them are very pretty, But they work all the time.... every time. That is why I count on them. Granted, there have been a couple of occasions where a Busse broke or a Glock jammed. Nothing is ever perfect, but I would bet my life on them over any other brand I know of.

I'm also a huge fan of Randall's and 1911's, and they are pretty and also function very well. But I don't feel either is as reliable as Busse or Glock in 'real-world' performance.

A lot of Sig fans here, but I had a P228 that was a jammomatic (flame suit on ;):D)...and it is long gone. I'm sure it was just a bad apple since Sig does have an excellent reputation. But the point is, with a Glock you can't get a bad apple. They all work. ;)

I've probably posted this one before... but here is a carry and a home defense pair... both .40's.

Sig is my preferred shooter. I have a West German marked P226 and two P229s, the 9mm is I believe West German and the more recent P229DAK in .40 is stamped Germany. I love them as shooters, they are absolutely perfect in terms of balance, function, feel.

Having said that, if I had to throw a pistol in my bug out bag to trust my life to it would be a Glock 19. Easier to maintain, more reliable and parts are easier to come by given how many LEO agencies use them. I hate how they feel, but I shoot them reasonably well and have a G19, 27 and 32.

You can guess from my moniker that I'm a Glock man. My EDC is a Glock 26. My range/comp guns are a Glock 19 and a Glock 21. I'll have to dig up some pix later. I stake my life on my Glocks;)

BTW, the hunting guns include S&W 29, 66, Ruger MK II, Vaquero, Contender, etc.....
